He was at fault. Not alone but at fault yes. He has loads of pace, he can still support while waiting to see the lie of the land first. He has no reason to go as early as he did because his pace will get him there either way. If you look at the rest of the back 4, Clyne was where he should be and he has the same instructions. We had just got the ball back, only one pass was made halfway in our own half and yet he's got himself ahead of the play already. Silly.

A lot of people saying this, but Moreno still made a catalog of mistakes in that 1st half. 2 wayward 'clearances' straight to Arsenal players in our defensive 3rd and 2 desperate lunging tackles in the box as a result.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostCarragher would want to have a word with himself. He is falling into the Lawro / Gary Neville trap of thinking that you need to be so controversial to keep your name as a pundit.
For me, Moreno was so ****ing stupid to give away the penalty against Arsenal. And there were a few times when you could see that he was out of position. And I genuinely feel that we can do so much better in that position (just accept that they are our feeder club and buy Bertrand from Southampton ffs!!!)
BUT.......Moreno was not at fault for the first goal. He simply wasn't. LFC had the ball and were counter attacking. Moreno was offering an outlet down the left wing. It wasn't Moreno that got caught in possesion in the middle of the park. And the fact that Neville was so slating of AM for the first goal suggests that he either has an agenda, or else he doesn't have a ****in clue what he is talking about. Maybe that is why Valencia looked so so ****e under the 2 sprawns of Neville Neville.
Klopp is giving AM some public backing. What is he supposed to do? Tell the world that Moreno is a clueless **** that can't ****in multitask? In reality if Klopp wants to bomb out Moreno (and I think that might be a good idea) then he will ensure that his replacement is there first. Essentially there are 3 potential paths for AM right now:
(1) He maintains his position / status as our only left back specialist.
(2) He is replaced and sold
(3) He is replaced but becomes a squad player.....as a left back or a left winger
None of those scenarios are going to be enhanced by Klopp now coming out and saying that Moreno was a bag of ****e against Arsenal. So how ****in stupid were the journos thinking that they might get a reaction from JK.
He got off the hook in terms of not being at fault for more goals, on another day it could have been another Sevilla for him..

I don't think Klopp wants him to do this particularly. I think he wants predictable, coordinated movement from the back line. But Moreno will always be looking to push up. The deepest midfielder and centrebacks have to learn to position themselves accordingly.Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostAnyone think he's got it in him to become a decent defender i.e learn the basics such as not diving in, staying on your feet and holding a line?
Klopp must see something in him and surely the errors have to stop sooner rather than later, no one has the inability not to learn and keep making the same mistakes over and again surely?
The way Moreno dives in all the time is a real issue though. Wherever he positions himself he'll be useless on his arse, even when h doesn't give away freekicks/pens."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

One of the things I'd most like in the whole world would be for a user of a supporters message board to reveal themselves as a footballer of the team in question
