He's a professional footballer, he shouldn't be doing stuff like that at this stage in his career.

not just a new league but a new country too.
      who's arsed?

He has made a lot of individual errors that have led to goals. It genuinely is the basics he's getting wrong, I mean his body shape for the first goal yesterday was ridiculous. I like him though, has all the tools and a bit of balls about him but he is making too many crucial mistakes. Hopefully next season he'll improve.

He was. He was atrocious in the games I saw of him. And he still is. He wasn't ready for a big move but his biggest issue was the revolving door policy in our backline and a lack of options when he's needed taking out the firing line. In an ideal world he'd have competed with Flanagan not Jose Enrique.

Our team is full of mistakes. Mistakes in the final third and mistakes in the defensive third. And then being out fought and out thought in the middle of the park in the past two games. We're a team of kids and it shows.
          Forwards.......

Agreed. Not his fault we have too many players with his level of experience.

he is doing exactly the same things at LFC that he was doing at Sevilla. Was always prone to defensive lapses. Hopefully coaching and experience an sort that out. I do like him but he is making way too many crucial mistakes. Looking forward to seeing his development next season.

I think this season we've not had enough time to work on individual mistakes, the little time we get we've had to devote to working on a new team shape or personnel.

Not an issue with defensive lapses, but its the fact he offers nothing further forward that frustrates the hell out of me. When the ball is played out wide right to Henderson, Ibe, Sterling, even Johnson, I'm on the edge of my seat as something might happen.

But when the ball comes out far left the next two moves are predictable: look up to see where Coutinho is, pass to Coutinho. End. He's often in acres of space and I think that's deliberate from opposing teams as they have identified him as an ineffective 'danger'.
                  One tit for another.

Agreed. It comes with the territory when you makes wholesale changes I suppose. I think might be same scenario next season too.

Yeah he is very ineffective going forward. Lots of movement and promise but usually ends up with no end product. Such a tough position though wing back... maybe because the position is so demanding his attacking and defensive concentration levels diminish somewhat... as he's bolloxed. So we are seeing defensive lapses and poor delivery up top.

I dunno, hopefully both sides of his game will improve with time.

I suppose it depends if we sell any of our better players or suffer any injuries. If we keep our best team together, we could always fall back on that and introduce players slowly.

Its because he is so one footed, his right foot is pretty much useless and that is why instead of closing the space he let Belerin in.

Plenty of people making excuses for him (he's young, foreign etc) he's costing us goals, game after game and contrary to some peoples beliefs he's not very good going forward either.

I hope he improves but i'm far from convinced he's the answer to the left back position.

Alberto Moreno: Europa League isn't a booby prize, I go home and look at my winners' medal

Liverpool's Spanish full-back hoping to secure qualification and believes fans will see even more from him next season

Alberto Moreno is one Liverpool player who won’t see qualification for the Europa League as any form of booby prize – if the Reds secure their likely place after the final round of league games this weekend.

Brendan Rodgers’ men head to Sunday’s clash with Stoke in fifth place in the Premier League and will hope to maintain their position ahead of Spurs and Southampton so they can move directly into the group stages which start on September 17.

A complicated set of circumstances – depending on who wins the FA Cup – leaves open the possibility of qualifying stages as early as July 30 or even July 2, if they only end up qualifying through the Fair Play table having slipped to seventh.

But Moreno, a £12m purchase last summer, is in no doubt about the value of the competition, having gone all the way to an emotional final victory with his Sevilla teammates over Benfica last year.

The 22-year-old Spanish full-back told the ECHO: “I’m a big fan of the Europa League, you know I can go home and look at my medal in my trophy cabinet at home which I’ve already won, I love it.

“For any player and any fan, winning any trophy – not least at a European level – is absolutely something positive. We always want to win trophies, let’s face it, and I enjoyed it when we won.”

Moreno’s hometown team are of course back in the Europa League final on May 27 to face Dnipro in Warsaw and he has been in touch with his former teammates to wish them good luck.

“I’ve been texting congratulations and spoken with a few of them, wishing them all the best for the final. I won’t make the final myself, it’s a long way to go Poland and by that time the season will be over and I can’t wait to head back to Spain and speak to my family and spend some time with my mates.

“But I will be watching on TV.”

Moreno has been playing in a mixed role this season – and indeed with mixed results – chalking up 36 appearances between full-back and at wing-back when Brendan Rodgers has preferred a three-man defence.

He says it is something he has had to adapt to in his first year and believes there will be more to come from him next season.

“The fans have seen just a part of me so far. I’m young and as a youngster you can only strive to keep on improving so hopefully they’ll see the best of me. It’s down to hard work but what will be, will be.

“I’m a full-back so all my life I’m used to playing that role, so that doesn’t present any difficulties but the wing-back part of it was something that was very new to me.

“But I’ve enjoyed it because I do love the attacking side of the game so it’s nice to get more chance to get forward. Still though you concentrate on getting back to support the three at the back as well.”

Coutinho deserves every accolade he gets, he's a fantastic player
Moreno was in attendance at Liverpool’s Players’ Awards on Monday night at the ECHO Arena and he also heaped praise on Philippe Coutinho after he scooped four awards, including Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year.

“He’s an absolutely fantastic player, it’s a pleasure to share the dressing room with him, it’s great to consider myself one of his teammates,” he said.

“Just see what he’s got as a player, to see him in training and to see him in games, it’s a pleasure.

“What is he? Twenty-two years old and he’s actually off with the Brazilian side surrounded by all the top players that manage to get into that squad, so that’s a real testament to his ability.

“Everything he won last night is all down to his own hard work and it’s fully deserved. He’s earned it and he deserves those accolades he picked up last night.”

Moreno finished his interview with the ECHO by trying out his best Scouse accent – to pretty decent effect.

“It’s hard because the people here speak really quickly but as time goes on I’ve picking it up better and better.”

Liverpool fans will be hoping that it’s not just his ‘Scouse’ that gets better and better next season.
"I will make the boys feel your support"

I like Moreno he has a bit of balls about him but he seriously needs to work on his defensive game. Hopefully this year was a learning curve and he can expel those defensive lapses from his game.
