I still don't know how a player who is so one-footed got to this level.
I doubt this will ever change and that is why he will never be anything more than an average left back in my opinion.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

It's incredible how a professional footballer hasn't been forced to weak on their weaker foot. Even if it's just to play a simple pass.
However, I do think he'll be our left back for a long time. He certainly has the attributes, he just needs to learn when to play with his head instead of his heart and that will come with experience as he matures.Originally posted by Corndog View PostI doubt this will ever change and that is why he will never be anything more than an average left back in my opinion.

I think people tend to be too harsh on attacking fullbacks defensively. I suspect it is a hard role to judge unless you are trying to just judge the one player. It is also reliant on midfield cover and the centrebacks to not look **** a lot of the time."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I don't mind the odd fck up that leads to a direct goal. As long as the player is showing something in attack. I'm seeing nothing whatsoever from Moreno in attack. No game intelligence, no getting past players with the ball, no crossing ability.Originally posted by dww View PostI think people tend to be too harsh on attacking fullbacks defensively. I just want one thing from a full back, either defence or attack. Neither is not an option. One tit for another.

I watched him in the Europa final last year and he looked poor defensively. It was clear he would need time. We have had a combination of factors go against us this season, the no striker BS is well known and commented on.Originally posted by gratziani View PostHoping it is first season settling with Albert Morgan and he turns into the Spanish **** hot left back we signed last year for 15 odd million
The other factor for me was starting the season with Manquillo, Lovren and Moreno all in the same starting line up. I remember watching the game vs City and we were cut to pieces. Those early games really knocked the confidence of individuals and then the team as a whole.
All three I just mentioned could have done with slotting in next to three players who'd alreday been there a year. When you add in that Mignolet was a bit dodgy, it was a shambles.Forwards.......

Last season he wasn't up to it defensively, if we are to play him as a LB he needs to improve that side of his game significantly, particularly has the current setup with Gomez gives protection to Lovren. I can't see that system working with Moreno at LB. If he is to be involved at present you would have to assume that (cup games aside) if he plays it will be in a more advanced role, but there is alot of competition for those places The question is is there enough to his attacking game to play there?Originally posted by SB View PostLanguishing on page 4.

Is he best suited as a left sided mid? Was the Bournmouth match a one off to show the manager he's keen or is he best suited when unshackled from full time defensive duties? The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
