He almost scored too! I can't criticise the shot either, it was a very good save from the feet of Begovic.

I love the guy. Still young. Great at attacking, tracking back, speed, just needs to work on his marking which should improve now that Rodgers is gone. To be fair how many of our defenders over the years have been guilty of ball watching? Like all of them. Once the pressing style of playing is drilled into their brains by Klopp, they'll start charging every little thing, including set piece balls. Or risk being sold to Brendans spanish team, where he speaks fluent bull**** with flair.

I can imagine that being Ballotelli next season.

Not even Klopp can sort Balotelli out.

It'd be interesting to see if he could though. Could take 6 months or so but if he succeeded we'd at least get some money back on him. He's worth nothing at present

It'd be fun to watch a few training sessions I'd say.

Even then you might be overestimating his worth a little bit.

The damage he would do in that 6 months wouldn't be worth it.
Absolute joke of a signing, worse than Rafa signing Robbie Keane then playing him as a winger.

I think it would have been interesting - but for me the ship sailed when we didn't appoint Klopp in the summer. You need a pre-season to give the manager a chance to judge a controversial player and get a read on how much effort it would be to try.

I would hope that this summer we have other, better odds prospects to assess.

There is something of the ebullient avuncular figure of Klopp that does give the impression he could turn around a player like Balotelli around which the whiff of mid-life crisis about Rodgers never really did.

To get back on topic: Moreno's character appears to be a bit of a mirror of Klopps. It's fun to watch both.

Moreno is a different player under Klopp. He absolutely sprints back now, he done some challenge at the last home game, I think it was against Mane and it was an absolute peach. Last year I lost my voice shouting sprint back you lazy barsteward.

There are still elements I think he needs to work on; one being ball watching and not looking over his shoulder, the other being crossing as he is up their with xavier as the ****test crosser full back position.

One thing which people have said and I agree wholeheartedly (although I cringe) Is that his character has really shone through. Klopp treats him like a dad and his little cheeky kid, he seems to really give a **** and loves playing for the club and fans, which is great to see.

The most important job Lucas gave me this morning was to grab an exclusive interview with one of my teammates at Melwood – so I headed into the canteen to search for a scoop.

As I walked through the doors, I spotted Martin Skrtel settling down for a pre-training coffee and thought he would be a good choice for a quick chat.

                              Here’s how it went…

Who is the best player you have ever played with in your career?

It is definitely not Alberto Moreno! It must be Steven Gerrard.

                              Are you ready for Saturday?

                              Yes, I’m trying to be.

Can you believe that I’m a journalist today?

No, I can’t, because your English is ‘muy malo’ [very bad]!

Thank you for your time, Martin!

Note from the editor: I don’t think Alberto should give up his day job!

By no means Paulo Maldini at LB, but this kid actually looks like he can defend under Klopp. How did Rodgers fail so miserably with this lad? Was he too busy sulking over not getting Ryan Bertrand?
