I like him despite him making mistakes. He's most of the time our most forward player. Obviously, with his style of play, there is always going to be issues defending. Having Clyne as a less adventurous full back does balance out that effect somewhat. He wasn't the reason we lost today though no?

He's an awful defender & gives nothing in attack. We were cruising and he gave a needless free kick that resulted in Mig clanger. Should have never happened. Not good enough.

Yup. They can both be iffy at the back but Smith actually picks good options in the final third rather than a brainless cross over everyone's head.

Moreno was awesome against Spurs when he scored he first goal for us. He's just regressed after that in line with the deterioration of Mignolet and the back four as a unit.

Reminded me of a young JAR when he bombed forward but hasn't delivered much since his initial impact game.

he has some good attributes, but he just seems a bit brain dead - I think a good break from the starting XI would do him the world of good and I'd also agree, that he suffers from our whole defence/keeper being **** and having no one with pace in midfield to cover him when he bombs forward.

I think he'd be good enough and would improve, in a side with a better keeper, centre halves and a centre mid who is quick and can tackle.

at times Moreno has been our only outlet due to his pace, and as such his poor decision making looks even worse because he's the only player we have had getting in to positions in attacking areas.

But yeah I agree, smith looks more composed on the ball - I'd be happy to give him a run and drop Moreno to go and sort his head out
