Nah. It was ok, not great, not bad and we've done what Everton, Utd and Arsenal failed to do and win there. Besides, it's these so so games we need to start getting before we get the better, confidence flowing stuff.Originally posted by DeanoUK View PostTo be fair, the match and our performance were utter drivel.

We are conceding less but we quite easily could have conceded more tonightOriginally posted by captainfog View PostWe look better with Gerrard out of the holding role and we're also conceding less goals.
Other than that there is not a lot we can do because Mingolet, Skittles, Lovren and Toure are all ****ing ****e and Sakho might be ****e too, it's hard to tell though because he never friggin plays.
Johnsom is **** as well

Respectfully Sarb, what exactly would you have us do instead? Our defence has been pathetic, and something we badly needed to address. We cannot change the personnel available to us in attacking areas and relying on them to do what Suarez & Sturridge did last year was proving a complete fail. Apart from changing the manager immediately, which won't happen so should be disregarded, what else can or should any team in our position do other than try to tighten up in defence and grind some results out?Originally posted by Sarb View PostThink we are being too negative atm. Too hard trying to keep it tight at the back. Performances not good enough. Results papering over the cracks I feel
We're nowhere near good at the moment, but we also don't deserve to be in the relegation-threatened league positions either. I don't think any cracks are being papered over at all, everybody knows we have a **** load more improving to do, but what we're seeing is a settling into a more realistic and sensible league position, same as has happened with Spurs and a couple of others in the last few games.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

I don't think we played very well. It's a good week to have that performance because they were very poor. With the defensive errors they made those goal scoring chances wouldn't have gotten an opportunity to score any of those goals. Also I'm sure we'd have been punished against a better team too.
3 points though, steps in the right direction.
Also, Lambert. If Balotelli put in the performances he's been putting in he'd have been torn to shreds. He also has the annoying knack of ending up on the flanks when we need him in the box. Goes to show though, people judge the man, not the performance.

**** kicked out? Really? Its up to the ref to give the fouls if he sees them. Some were fouls yes, but not dangerous. Its exactly what I would expect to see from a team facing him. He worked hard as always just don't think he looks a threat anywhere near their goal lately.Originally posted by danperkins View PostIf you watched that Bob i don't know how you could possibly say that Sterling goes down too easy, he got the **** kicked out of him tonight. Incredible work rate & lacked support in front of him & from the left back.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Nah, 2 goals in his last 4, his effort off the bar which led to the winner v Stoke, brilliant ball for Sterling tonight, countless headed clearances at the back etc, he's contributing a lot though it's still a depressing downgrade from last season.Originally posted by Zapater View Post

We havent been that much better or tighter imo (or though goals against will tell you different)
We could quite easily have conceded a few more tonight but for woeful finishing
I dont think Rodgers has tried attacking this season, its all been more defensive and against decent teams or even ordinary ones you will pay the price if you cant do that
I still think we should put 2 up top, push up higher and press more / higherBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

We could easily have conceded more in all the previous games too though, I think empirically conceding less is a step in the right direction any which way we look at it.Originally posted by Lecter View PostWe are conceding less but we quite easily could have conceded more tonight

Aye we need the wins first, it needs to come back quicker though if we wish to get past the CL group stages. Agree with your Lambert comments lower down too.Originally posted by Chris View PostNah. yes he was fouled a lot but he goes down so easily. Refs are starting to ignore him now. He looked no threat at all from a goal scoring perspective. Just looks like the sterling from 18 months ago. I have little doubt he will be great again but tonight he was well below his best.
