Players to clear out

I wouldn't get rid of many players, but I think the club should identify those senior team players that you can't rely on to contribute regularly, and then just not 'count them' when assessing the strenght of the squad. Lallana, Matip and Ings are the first three that come to mind. Can be good players, but I actually cringed while looking at Lallana's injury record for us. 54 LFC games missed through 10 injuries, if we don't count the remaining 6 or 7 games. Matip will have missed 38 or hopefully 39 games in two seasons by the end of May. Ings we all know. Counting on them is like hoping Sturridge might still come good. But they are a nice bonus to have here, when they are fit once every full moon.
Lovren, Klavan, Gomez, Can and Henderson are not as bad, but they also tend to be out quite often (and some of them have occasional 'quality' problems). When you look at it this way, you are basically left with just Van Dijk as a sole reliable, quality CB. In midfield, that's Milner, Ox and Wijnaldum - maybe not as bad quantity-wise, but in my view a bit uninspiring. At least when you look at players like Salah, Mane, Firmino, VVD, Robertson, Trent even... It's clear this team can do so much better in certain positions.
The only three players I'd definitely get rid of are Mignolet, Moreno and Sturridge. Mignolet more than a capable no.2, but I doubt he'd agree to that, plus I find him annoying somehow. Moreno I've defended a lot after his earlier performances this season, but the WBA game has left me in shock, what the ****
and Sturridge, with 80 minutes of playing time since Jan, is just done imo. Wijnaldum with his 4 amazing games per season can stay for now, unless we get a huge bid. I know lots of people like him, but I just think there are dozens of players out there that do what he does, that Klopp could make even better, except on a regular basis. Solanke and Grujic on loan to decent clubs.
What's good to see is that the spine of the team is mostly great and can stay the same for next season. Midfield needs a revamp, but it seems that's already been addressed, which is beautiful. So a new quality CB, one or two new midfielders besides Keita, and a new forward, and we'll win the league. Maybe backup goalie and LB. And don't sell anyone else!!
Karius - Trent NewCB VVD Robertson - Jorginho/Neves Keita Henderson/Milner/Ox - Salah Firmino Mane

That leaves plenty of quality for the bench and rotation:
New keeper, Clyne, Lovren, Gomez, Klavan, new LB, Henderson, Milner, Ox, Maddison, Wijnaldum, Wilson, Origi, Sessegnon.
Maybe the forward section feels young and inexperienced, but I doubt the club will be ready to spend more than that.
And then if guys like Lallana, Matip, Ings happen to be available, even better.

Origi
Mignolet
Sturridge
Moreno
Grujic
Markovic
Ings
This would do for me, we need a big squad, if Klavan wants to go to play more, that's fine, but even though he wasn't good in his last game, he has had good games, more good than bad IMO. I'd give Solanke a little more time and I wouldn't say anything if Ings would stay longer, but I feel he needs more playing time.
This would probably recoup like 40-50 million give or take.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I'd keep Ings over Solanke. I do agree with whoever mentioned Origi prior to the injury being a better option than both of them though.
From the lads that actually play:
Mignolet
Klavan
Can (I wouldn't sell but he's off anyway right)
Solanke (he'll probably be loaned, but I'd sell)
Others:
Bogdan
Markovic
Sturridge
I don't think we need too much upheaveal, our squad is already fairly thin as it is.

agree.Originally posted by Pablo View PostI don't think we need too much upheaveal, our squad is already fairly thin as it is.
so many players are long term injuries so they wont really have any effect on the first team, and can is out of contract and going.
so with no disturbance to the first 11, we could say goodbye to these and then they need replacing to rebuild the squad thats paper thin due to injuries anyway. no point keeping these as they are rarely available, or proven ****e.
from the list there is only can who is a proper midfielder, shows how thin we really are.
can
lallana
matip
moreno
sturridge
bogdan
origi
solanke [loan]
some other junior loanee's to sort out too.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

i will bite... mostly i would bin him, but he does have the big game in him, often very frustrating with his negative play etc.
obviously if he played like last night every game then he is a keeper.
what we need is consistency all around the team, no weak links.removing all the weak links makes us stronger

I wouldn't mind if he stayed tbh, I just feel he needs more games, I really like him as a player.
