When the replacement is Mario Balotelli, certainly. We had money and a CL spot and through a combination of poor signings and poor form/management we ****ed it up.

Summer needs to see some beef in midfield, a top striker & a competent defender. Those top 3 should be priority & must be the right players. Mix that with what we have & we should have a decent enough squad to go at it from the off next season!
It is way more hard to consistently break into that top 4 now with about 6 teams more than capable! Top 2 will usually be chavs & city for all their spending power, so that leaves only 2 more spots. Im happy competing consistently for top 4 but don't mind if we miss out on the odd occasion but we must still be able to do better against the big spenders a little better.

How anyone could want Rodgers sacked is beyond me.

          Idiots.

And complete drama queens. Changing manager now will put us so much further behind, These results happen. Get over them. One better pass and we might have won the game.

If he stays he definitely can't afford another season like this. I think he has enough credit in the bank for another season.

I don't think anyone could dispute that.

              Improvement next season is expected.
              Oh I don't know.

When judging the season as a whole.....then rodgers can still go back and point to sturridges injury.....he was there to step up and his season has been so ****e that it must have cost us about 9 points when you go back through the results....

The problem for rodgers will be the fact that he will need go back and look for new players. we have a few high earners off the wage bill this summer so there should be cash available but if brendan goes in and asks for 20m to buy a new centre back and FSG are being asked to sanction something like a £6m sale of Lovren....then that is what could lead them to ask questions about giving rodgers another season. In reality if they feel that they cant trust him with the money, then he is on borrowed time..... perhaps that is why we get a danny ings, milner and maybe Vietto this summer all for under a combined £20m and brendan needs to show progress with the likes of Moreno, Markovic, Emre Can, Origi and Ibe....... i think next season will be make or break for rodgers. He will need another title push this time 12 months.

With luck with injuries then i actually think it is possible but for me bringing in something like 7 new players will **** his lfc career up.....because 3 or 4 of them will be flops...

He has said himself that next season we will be challenging for the title. Not sure he quite believes that now, but with the right calibre of players added to the first team this summer anything can happen.

I still think FSG are ruthless enough to get rid if we finish seventh and get knocked out of the cup.

The way we were going in the first part of the season, and with our scumbag performances in Europe, along with the almost certainty of not qualifying for the CL was going to be the nail in the coffin for Rodgers.
I know there were some who'd given up on him at that point, with his weird team selections/Gerrard playing 2 games a week etc, but I never felt he was in danger of being immediately sacked - rather that he'd see it out until the summer until FSG took action.

We went on a run of fine results and got ourselves not just into position to compete, but regarded as probable 3rd place finishers, which Rodgers alluded to on more than one occasion.
Now that we've ****ed it up, old fears have re-surfaced, but I think (probably 64%) that he's done enough to put off a sacking due to not getting CL football because of the way we've conducted ourselves after the early season wobbles.
Of course, behind the scenes, we're not always privy to discussions around transfers/targets/contracts etc between management and ownership, so you never know, but I think it's unlikely.

Problem is how we finish up the season......can we win the Cup ? One of the lightest bunch of opposition in many a year, but I think we may struggle against Blackburn for a start. I'd be more concerned with the rest of the season going out on a whimper due to the pitiful spinelessness of our team, which could reflect very poorly on Rodgers' ownership of the dressing room in FSG's eyes......especially when it comes to weighing up whether to back this manager in the summer spending.

Was a pretty embarrassing loss, one thing getting beaten by Arsenal..another getting out fought by Arsenal.... that for me is the real kicker. We put so much effort into getting back in the champs race after a ****e few months at the start of the season.... that we are burned out now. Lads looked exhausted.

We are definitely out of the running or the champions league. Unfortunately at the business end of the season, things have just gone wrong for us. As regards Rodgers, he has made some questionable signings and some bad decisions this season, but I wouldn't want him sacked. Thing is next season will be even tougher to get into the champs league....cant see us getting back in anytime soon.

There's a dilemma in that I am not at all confident that Brendan is the man to do a rebuilding job in the summer, which we do need. We need to buy to replace, in all likelihood; Gerrard, Sterling, Balotelli, Johnson, Enrique, Toure, Borini and we would ideally replace Allen. So, even though most of those are peripheral players, there will likely be lots of changes and no doubt another 'transition' season as new players bed in. But bringing in a new manager could make completing all of that business even more difficult.

Either way, losing Gerrard and Sterling, and having a perennially injured main striker, we need to pull off some blinders in the market to stand a chance of challenging next year. We won't though.

I think that we need to figure out the formation, the players we need and get a good start to the new season, the pattern of Rodgers time here has been that we have made some poor signings in the summer, got off to a poor start/first half of the season, messed around with the system and then had a much better second half to the season. If we can get off to a decent start (and maintain it) I think we can improve significantly on this season.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Sterling is the only one of those to play regularly.

We don't need major surgery on this squad, we need an injection of genuine quality. Our transfer strategy has been too long sighted and driven by a desire to have squad depth.

Obviously it's difficult to get the calibre of player I'm talking about but for once if we can't get them let's just not sign people for the sake of it.

I reckon we have to pay over the odds transfer fee & wages for only 3 top players. We have the squad depth now. These 3 players have to be established players who have a very high influence & experience level to: 1- help drive us forward, 2- help guide our younger players & 3- show some fight & lack of respect (respectfully of course) to opposition teams especially the 'top 4' so that we are not easily but ****ed like against utd & arsenal.
We have to do this to show our ambition to continually challange for a top 4 finish. It is a gamble but if it pays off we succeed and if it doesn't we still had a good go (as only 4 out of a potential 6-8 teams could finish in the top 4 these days!)

I think we need two genuinely good forwards.

                                Lacazette and Vietto would do.

It's been proven time and again that you can have ****e for defence and midfield but your strikers can save you more often than not.

I reckon we'll go back to 4 at the back and look to toughen up.

That means binning Lovren, Toure and Moreno and bringing in two decent internationals. Janmmat for right back, move Flanagan to left back and one more for CB.

Then we should go balls deep for Lacazette and Vietto. Pay the former top money. He delivers and could be a French Ligue 1 winner this season.

We can move Can to midfield alongside Henderson with Ibe and Sterling (if he's still here) on the wings.

Coutinho, Markovic, Lallana or Texiera can support the main striker.

Or we play five in midfield -

                                Sterling - Can - Coutinho - Henderson - Ibe

With Lacazette, Vietto, Origi or Sturridge up front.

We definitely need to sell some players and rebalance things.
