Thanjk you.

We also went on a great run of 10 straight league wins from November didnt we? Thats not at the end of a season when the pressure is off.
Oh and if we did finish forth with higher points then that highlights to me that we are moving forward but we are not keeping up with the top 3 so we would need more money to compete.
Yes, as i said it was 'perpetuated by'.
The later half of your post could also indicate that the rest of the league is getting poorer, rather than us getting better.

I actually think that Rafa is the right manager to put us back as a genuine contender for the title, but my bugbear was the fact people keep pointing out the highest point finish. Yes it showed improvement, but the trick is not to rest on those laurels, but to move onwards after that points total. I think there is too much unrest amongst the fans at the moment, but it is easy to see why people would be and are upset/angry/disheartened at what they are seeing by the team they love.
What I would hate to see would be discussions like that were taking place in Ged's last two years, where the fans were split into camps, spending more time trying to prove that their own point is the valid one and getting into arguements with one another, rather than realising that the guy who disagrees with them is not a knob for doing so, and is only fighting his corner because he shares the same passion and love for the club.
Top, top post.

Unfortunately, it seems to be the norm round here.
I dont mind the cheap insults, it exposes posters for everyone to see, I even got told to '**** off you little prick' for absolutely no reason whatsoever, in the chat room other day, naturally without so much as a blink from the mods.
I've been sinbinned for infnitely less than I've been subjected too.
But, I'm not arsed, It's only the net.
nice brown-nosing there buddy

Rafa is 100% the right man for the job, but that doesn't mean he hasn't made mistakes because he has.
Our biggest problem is obviously away from home, not just this season but since Rafa's been in charge. What I can't understand this season is why Crouch has played so little, particularly away from home. Last season's improved away form was down to 2 main factors for me, an improved physical presence in midfield with Momo & Crouch's ability to hold the ball up. For some reason Crouch is 2nd choice to Kuyt & I can't agree with that.
i always thought this season would be hard because we bought so many new players in the summer. It takes time for any player to settle particularly young foreign players. Paletta, Aurelio & Gonzalez were always going to find it hard to adapt. South American players have a poor record in England & I thought it was a mistake to buy 3 at once. In truth they've contributed next to nothing so far.
I've never been a Pennant fan & would much have preferred Steed Malbranque from Fulham. he was available & in our price range & is twice the player Pennant is.
The big disappointment has been Bellamy. I didn't want him because of his of the field antics but I always felt he'd be an asset on the pitch. However, so far he's been woeful, a shadow of the player he was last season. He may still come good of course but we really needed him to get off to a flier.
Overall then Rafa is still very much the man for us but he can't be beyond criticism but anyone calling for him to be replaced simply doesn't understand football or LFC. I still think we will finish in the top 4 this season but Rafa must sort our away form out permanently or no.19 will not come home. Rafa - its over to you.
I'm not sure whether I admire or pity a man who has this kind of blind faith.
who is the man for the job then?
Rafa has brought us back from the brink....to the point where us fans are expecting a title in the near future.

Its nothing to do with blind faith and to be honest mate, I couldn't give a monkeys toss if you admire or pity me.
I said in my post Rafa has made some mistakes but if you look at his record with us since he joined, its very good. His record in spain & with LFC is exceptional. In recent seasons he's won La Liga twice, the UEFA Cup, the Champions League & the FA Cup. Now thats an exceptional record by anyone's standards & one bad patch this season doesn't make him a poor manager. He's record says he's an exceptional manager & we'd be mad to even contemplate replacing him.

well said mate.
I cant believe people are turning against Rafa after a bad start to the season. He has brought us back from the brink. If it wasnt for Chelsea, we would have been title challengers the last 2 seasons.

His record in the Cups has been fantastic mate, this I dont doubt.
But in terms of the league, I've seen nothing at all to suggest he can get us any closer to winning the title than Evans or Houllier....

I hope I'm proved wrong, but somehow, I doubt it.
It amazes me how quick you expect him to make an impact in a league that before Chelski arrived hadn't seen a different champion (appart from the 'big 2' since Blackburn. He gave us our best season ever last season, and this season we've encountered a blip, if the following season was the same then i'd have big doubts about Rafa, but not untill then. We've still got 2/3 of this season left to make things happen.

I think it will be very hard for us to win the league under Rafa or anyone else. The emergence of Chelsea has changed the English game. Even the Mancs with their massive resources are struggling to live with them.
Are we any nearer to winning the league, probably not but thats down to Chelsea rather than any failure of Rafa. We finished 2nd under Uncle Roy, and as much as I admired him, nobody could seriously suggest he's a better manager than Rafa.
Also how near are Arsenal to winning the league. They haven't won it for 2 seasons now & won't win it this year, should they sack Wenger. The mancs haven't won it for 3 years & if they fall away this season, should they sack Ferguson.
It will be very hard for any manager to win the league for LFC with the massive financial advantage Chelsea, Man Utd & Arsenal have over us but I believe with Rafa we have more chance than with any other manager out there.
Thats not based on blind faith but on Rafa's record.
Of the 5 away defeats, 3 were against the big 3, all of whom have yet to come to Anfield.
(That for me is Rafa's biggest failing to date, the inability to get results against the big 3 in the league)
The football we're playing away from home is shocking at the moment, but I'd still bet on us getting 3rd or 4th. Not good enough, but not quite the apocalypse.
Remember, we're only adding to the nonsense.
Walking a lonely road one night, Nasruddin saw riders approaching. His imagination ran riot: he saw himself robbed or killed, so he climbed a wall into a graveyard and hid. Puzzled at his behaviour, the riders, who were followers of the Mullah, followed. Finding him cowering behind a grave, they asked "Great Sage, why are you hiding here?". "It's more complicated than you think" he replied, "I'm here because of you - and you're here because of me"
