Yeah, I’d give him next season to prove himself. We still need more up there, but he’s clever, quick & hardworking enough to suit our frontline as an option.

Yep. Completely epitomises the wisdom of many in these parts.Originally posted by dom9 View PostIt's funny how on the one hand, people want to recruit a strong back up to our front three, and on the other hand advocate our existing back ups leave because they're not gonna get enough game time.
Ings was making some really clever runs when he came on yesterday. Are we winning?

Ings will probably be one of the back-ups to our front three, because he has the relentless desire to press and create opportunities for himself. Look at his mental strength too. He's come back from two career-defining injuries, and you know what you're going to get from him. Chuck him in against Man Utd and Spurs, or against Burnley and West Brom, and it'll always be the same graft, and gut busing runs into the box to try and score.
The question is about the other back-ups. I still expect a youngster to fill one of the spots i.e. Wilson/Brewster, and one top class player to be signed.

Exactly, and when you hear the names bandied about as strong back ups, you ask yourself why would they accept a bench role.Originally posted by dom9 View PostIt's funny how on the one hand, people want to recruit a strong back up to our front three, and on the other hand advocate our existing back ups leave because they're not gonna get enough game time.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Because they will think they're good enough to claim a starting place along side the options we already have. Danny Ings has never been/will never be good enough to do that. The sentimentally for the plucky underdog is heart warming and all that though.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Kennel, you really have a hard on for Ingsy. He has come back from two serious injuries and we have never seen the best of him. If he stays injury free going forward he is going to be invaluable to usOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostBecause they will think they're good enough to claim a starting place along side the options we already have. I just see no reason whatsoever for believing that. He wasnt anything special when we signed him and since then he's hardly played football. To expect that he'll not only be as good as he was before the injuries (ie pretty meh), but better, well I don't see it as anything more than wishful thinking tbh.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

The problem is the best anyone has ever seen of him is nowhere even close to being 'invaluable' to us. I like the guy but he's a nice third choice for centre forward at best.Originally posted by Assassin View PostKennel, you really have a hard on for Ingsy. Why do you hate him so much?Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI think there might be more of an anticlimactic end tbh.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
