We paid £10m for Origi so there is your benchmark right there (just dont mention £32m for Benteke)

10m might have been a fair price for ings, if he was still under contract with burnley, but as he was technically out of contract we should have been able to sign him for free.
Some nominal fee might be agreed just to seal the deal to prevent a bidding war but burnley really are deluding themselves here.
but as its th FA we might get stung for 7m. shakes head...

I don't see Origi being the benchmark, we signed him after the 2014 world cup where he'd helped Belgium get to the quarter finals. He is also the youngest player ever to score for the Belgian national team.

We should point out that he attended Bournemouth's Academy, and was 19 when Burnley signed him, so the vast majority of his development was paid for by Bournemouth and NOT Burnley!

Don't mind Bournemouth getting a decent wedge, good little club with a nice manager.

And what were Burnley's development costs? They paid £1m and just played in him the first team. There is no reason for them to be compensated at all imo.

But the said player has signed a contract with you as he is a free agent.

I agree, I would love to see that 500 pages dossier on their development costs etc.
