I have faith in Klopp, but I would be targeting someone if I was in his position. Perhaps the player he wants is unavailable until the summer.

I do think we are a bit weaker without Clyne. Obviouslt he aint gonna play much unless there are injuries, but we are short in yhat position, with only players that are better un other positions able to play there. We should be looking at a long term solution a'la Robertson (unless Klopp sees Trent as rightback) It wouldnt hurt to have a bit of experience there too. If we could bring in a top class rightback in this window, that would be the best option... but I dont see that happening.

I think our back 5 is a bit thin in terms of quality and reliability, but Klopp obvioudly has a plan, and I for one am patient enough to sit back and see what happens.

But I dont think you can argue we are stronger without him... I think his only game this season showed that he is a reliable backup.

I agree, I worry that it means more games for Gomez at right back and more for Matip/Lovren in CB
      Really?

I hope that we don't miss him but I do worry that everyone else who cover the full back positions are better elsewhere Gomez at CB, Milner and Fabinho in midfield, similarly only Milner and Moreno can cover LB.

IMO our strongest team has Gomez at CB and Fabinho in centre mid, we are effectively saying Milner is our cover for both fullback positions if anything happens to him we are going to rearrange the team somewhat to cover those positions, IMO it is a gamble, but hopefully it doesn't come back to bite us. The first thing to do is ensure that neither TAA nor Robertson play in any FA cup ties.

Yeah, maybe, I can go along with that, or well, I could if I cared.

Ok. Let's discuss about this one at the end of the season.

It's not like Milner cost us the points today, so I'm curious to know what's your thinking Dan.
              Are we winning?

It's not just about Milner at RB and whether he cost us points playing there. It's also the fact that we are lacking options in midfield, if Milner didn't have to play at RB would he have played in midfield tonight? IMO almost certainly. If we'd had someone else to play RB he wouldn't have been sent off against Palace and could have played in midfield against Palace and Leicester (as could Henderson who played RB at Leicester).

Would this have made any difference to those results? At the moment our squad is down to the bones, so another body in those areas would at least have given us better options, but who knows? Maybe Clyne would have ****ed up or got injured or something as well.

Personally I didn't see the point in the move and the way things have worked out maybe keeping him would have been the better decision, but it's too late now.

Milner didn't cost the points but he isnt good in that position and we already had a fourth in the back line in Matip. Also, Milner was needed in midfield, an area where he has been plying in.

if we had Clyne, Trent gets hooked when he was injured in the warm up at Brighton, we then have 2 proper RB's for the last 3 games, and not get targeted down that side. A period of time that has seen us leak confidence

No one was to know that our players were going to be queuing up outside the physio room but with the injury history of lovren, matip, and gomez it was a fair chance that we'd need the cover...

So clyne goes on loan, and then trent gets injured. so no probs as gomez can cover, and a bone injury isnt something we could have predicted. So we now have to pinch one of our midfielders to cover right back.
Now only matip and lovren as cb cover to partner VVD. If anything happened to Big Virge then its all over for sure!
And now matip and lovren are out we can use fabinho as centre back cover, but this leaves us even thinner in midfield as one of the midfielders is also covering right back...

Its a truely **** state of affairs. Maybe klopp will bring Ki-Jana Hoever in.

If we dont win the premiership then this will be one if the main reasons we can all chat about for the next few years.

Wouldn’t have got rid of anyone at all in January. Being in our position we should have really just kept the numbers to give us more options at times like this.

Anyway, that aside, I really want us to sign a horrible nasty ******* this summer.

That Declan Rice will be a good player.
