Just saw the second half of the Utd game, finally, and I was happy with what I saw of Ings and Origi. They're clearly good players that need to be the main men. Hopefully this game, with the right formation, will give them the platform.
Bogdan
Clyne Toure Sakho Moreno
Rossiter Milner
Ibe Coutinho Ings
Origi
With Ings and Origi swapping places as required. Texiera coming on in the second half for Rossiter or Milner. One tit for another.

I fear it's the turn of a second tier French team to embarass us
To feel like this after so many great years in Europe is a sad testament to how poor we have become.
I hanker for the days of listening to the wonderful Peter Jones commentating on the steam radio (pre sky and live midweek footy on the Beeb )
Mostly battling hard for a point away from home knowing they had no chance in the return at Anfield, great days indeed, St Etienne anyone?

Peter Jones - I remember those days. Most of the games weren't live on TV and I was nowhere near old enough to stay up and watch the highlights.
I'd happily return to a predominantly radio fueled football existence if it meant we had the same success as we enjoyed back then.

And were a Mid-table English teamOriginally posted by The_weatherman View PostBordeaux have 6 points from 5 games, a record of 1-3-1, so they appear to be a mid-table french team. Normally, we really should beat them? Any good players there to keep an eye on?
We should have really beaten West Ham
FC Bordeaux's last game 2-2 [PSG]
LFC'S last game L 1-3 [Man Utd]
it's set up perfectly.

I was too young to stay up for the highlights, so my parents gave me my first radio to listen to the games. Used to love listening to the European Cup games on a Wednesday night. Always a fantastic atmosphere and his commentary was brilliant. Benfica, Rapid Vienna, St Ettiene ... so many good nights.Originally posted by Cormack74 View PostPeter Jones - I remember those days. The other thing that sticks in my mind is that the away games always sounded like they were being broadcast from the far edge of the galaxy.
