****ing hell, completely forgot this was tonight, probably because we've already played on a week day this week! How many times have we played twice on weekdays in the same week and away from home?!

Well in to anyone making the trip!

Wins in them ignites the league season again and despite being ****e we are still within reach of the money places. Fact is with the little recovery time between games and with how we play we've been dropping like flies in every game and that would likely happen again if we played the senior lads tonight. As for another game if we draw, I reckon we can do it without the million or so quid it will bring and we could definitely do without another bloody midweek game to squeeze in.

Play the kids, see what happens. Win the league cup, try win the Europa league, try get top 4.
Yepppppp, this is 4th on the list of priorities now and a long way behind the other 3. That may change over the next 10 days if we fail in both league games but as it is......

Will be funny if he's accused of not taking a cup seriously though, we need to rest all these players because we take Europe seriously and are nearly in the other domestic cup final!

no one surely can have a go for not taking it seriously - completely different scenario to rafa/burnley and other managers at different clubs who have underestimated lower league opposition or gambled playing their kids.

The way I see it, we simply have no choice - we have too many injuries and not enough available 'first teamers' to be able to field a strong side.

I'm quite looking forward to it - I won't be too gutted if we lose, given the team we will have out, and it'll be great to see if any of these kids can step up and stake a claim for a place

Skybet have Exeter at 5/1. That seems generous given the circumstances.

I echo the sentiments of playing loads of the young players. However, I think I would also like to see a few senior players in some key positions as well - mainly the spine of the team.

If Joe Allen, Benteke and perhaps Lucas at CB again were all included in the starting 11, then i would be more than happy with things - win lose or draw.

It's going to be a weak team but not really through choice 13 players out plus a few not fully fit on their way back.

I assume Klopp would have liked to have been able to rest Clyne, Moreno and Can who have all played alot of football without a break whether he can/will remains to be seen.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Maybe Allen and Milner can use some minutes but we can't afford more injuries so I would understand if they were omitted from the starting XI.

think i will be but would get on it quick. dont think that price will be there for long!! although would like to see the bench as Exeter half time. Liverpool full time would not be a bad bet

Wasn't it Barrett who said we weren't going to register Illori to play?

Exactly. They should be thinking "this is my chance; don't do anything stupid but, if I want to play in the first team on a regular basis in a couple of years time, I need to believe I am better than Exeter...even on a bumpy pitch on a cold January evening with the crowd making lots of noise for the opposition." There, team talk done!

Haha, not only is it a young and inexperienced team, it's a team of players that have barely played together this year.

I'm sure teh anser to this is obvious and it's the pub playing tricks on me, but who's Stewart? Only one I can think of is Kelvin and I thought he was still on loan?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
