Emre Can to return to Liverpool squad for Villarreal clash
Emre Can will return to the Liverpool squad for Thursday’s Europa League semi-final, second-leg clash with Villarreal at Anfield, Jürgen Klopp today confirmed.
The German midfielder has resumed training at Melwood after an ankle injury sustained against Borussia Dortmund on April 14 kept him out of the Reds’ last five matches.
Asked for an update on the fitness of his squad at his pre-match press conference, Klopp told reporters: “Emre Can is ready to return to the squad for sure, but the rest we have to see.
“Hendo is in a good way – a good way for England, I am not too sure how good a way it is for Liverpool in this case because he has not been on the pitch yet.
“We have to see day by day how the improvement is, but he is in a good way.
“Only Emre will return to the squad, the rest are still out.”What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

'Liverpool's support is one of the things in life you cannot buy'
Jürgen Klopp has hailed the support of Liverpool fans around the world as 'one of the things in life you cannot buy' ahead of his side's Europa League semi-final decider against Villarreal.
All eyes will be on Anfield on Thursday evening as the Reds look to overturn a 1-0 aggregate deficit to reach their first European final since 2007.
The supporters at the famous old stadium have already played their part in their team getting this far, with the atmosphere during the unforgettable quarter-final win over Borussia Dortmund inspiring a remarkable comeback.
Klopp expects a similar reception when Marcelino's men visit Merseyside, and says the knowledge that support during the game will also come from much further afield than L4 is a huge boost to his squad.
"I have not enough words for this. It's one of the things in life you cannot buy," he told reporters at a press conference to preview the clash.
"Feeling things like this is the most special [thing], I think that's the main thing of football. These moments when you really know we are all together.
"It's not only the crowd in the stadium, I saw a few videos of how fans were celebrating our fourth goal [v Dortmund] at home, and I'm pretty sure not everybody had their mobile phone on so a lot of wonderful celebrations were missed because of this fact.
"It is a moment - I don't want to make it too big to be honest - but it's a moment only [in] football.
"It's a moment for the whole Liverpool world, all the fans around the world.
"Everybody will watch [on Thursday] if they have a television; if you have a radio, you will[listen] on the radio; if you only have the internet, you will follow it on the internet.
"Everybody will be involved in Liverpool, and to know about this is no pressure. It is these 11 starters plus all the boys on the bench, plus all the boys in training, plus the staff - we'll do everything. I'm happy about the opportunity."What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Their a very tough side, blatantly will sit deep and try to catch us on the break. Need an early goal, don't want that heart material like the Dortmund game. Whereas Dortmund are a better side, Villareal are definitely more capable of grinding out a result by being solid and stifling the game.
Place needs to be bouncing and us to score first is absolutely crucial. Asking for another Dortmund like rescue is stretching it. Always thought they'd be the toughest tie in out of the 3 left, we'll have to put in a much better display at home, surely we will. Sturridge starting is a no brainer.
