Both at the same time.
he got concussion it's lousy but it happens. Didn't rate him before the game and haven't altered that since game or since concussion news. it's harsh but we need better. I do think he'll still be our No.1 next season though.

Whether you rate him or not is a side issue to the fact that the concussion may have cost us the game.

I want us to get a better keeper also. But this just pisses me off even more to the lengths Ramos went to to ensure they won the game.

I get that mate and getting a concussion is lousy for anyone, I still don't believe that is what cost us the game. I just think he made a howler, just my opinion. The 2nd one was weak hands and it happens most seasons in various leagues. It just seems like a charm offensive to me but I am a cynic at the best of times.

I hate Ramos more than most, I would say he gets away with murder but he has more cards than any other player in the history of La Liga. The problem was we had a weak ref who gave us absolutely nothing, I was worried this would happen before the game. He is a ruthless, snidey scumbag but he is a winner.. win at all costs. Could have bet your mortgage that he would be involved in some sort of drama in the final.

This is the way I see it, harsh or not depending on your view but what happened, happened. Concussion, scans etc won't change the fact that he is going to get a rough ride next season, for a bloke who was already mentally weak.. I do not envy him. He got a concussion, that is fair enough but it does seem like an attempt at a pr charm offence that will never work. He just has to make one mistake now and people will jump all over it.

I've just looked back over my posts on Karius to see if I'm being 2-faced and 90% of them are bemoaning him being a complete jelly with a smattering of praise for small individual acts (including once where I mistook him for Mignolet when I must have been pissed). I didn't call him Carry On Karius for nothing. I smell a rat about this concussion business but I don't care as long as this is our tactic to drive his price up from the cost of a bag of monster munch to something a bit more reasonable.

I think it would be fair for us to keep him as number 2, get a top goalkeeper in and if Karius can fight his way back into goal that will show mental fortitude and fair play to him & if he can't it means we bought a top goal keeper who is doing a great job.

IMO we need to be ruthless, we have fell at the final hurdle in the last 3 cup finals & really could have pushed City if we had a better squad. We are a few players away from having a brilliant side with a strong bench. I would hate for us to risk that. I get the way I am coming across but just my opinion & sick of us coming second best when it's so close for us to win trophies & make history.

Did Karius receive a blow to the head? Yes.
Did he make at leat one uncharacteristic mistake? Yes.
Could the 2 be linked? Yes.
Are the club likely to be behind this in assisting with Karius PR? Yes.

But with the best will in the world he has received a medical diagnosis. So we have to take the concussion as fact.

The other question is why be so so desperate to not allow or accept the fact that the head injury could have affected the performance of one of our players during a massive game?

Because admitting all of that doesn’t mean we don’t need a better keeper.
              Yep. Absolutely all of this.

Ramos is a proper cunt, but the incident in question wasn't a major one looking at the replays. Not an obvious elbow, and not an obviously heavy impact with Karius.

the fact that it took days for this to even be mentioned shows how little people thought of it

Please god not even as our number 2. How can we ever trust him? He needs a fresh start miles away.

I didn't trust him before the game but I think if he is our number 1 next season, the guy is going to get an awful time from opposition fans in every game & one mistake we'll all be talking about how we should have bought another keeper.

the way he went down with the ball still being live, no way he fakes it. Ramos from his blindside catches him off guard.

I spent a few minutes with half an eye on him after, surely the medics should have been speaking to him. I'm sure he made another rushed piece of keeping between the elbow and their first goal as well?

And all the others, fecking tough crowd.

The level of impact has the square root of f'all to getting concussion and if you think being concussed can't affect your judgment & decision making, sight, depth perception, coordination or even hearing, you've probably never been affected by it.

Finally, why shouldn't the club support Karius in this? or is YNWA only for when we win?

Surely the question should be - is he good enough between the sticks for Liverpool?

Again, if he's been a good keeper and we see this as an aberration then we should keep him. And if he's not a good keeper and we're not really surprised to see this then we should sell him. Put our arms around his shoulders, help him in every way we can. And sell him.

We've sold plenty of players because they weren't good enough to play for us. That's not betrayal, that's football. YNWA didn't help them and it shouldn't help Karius if he's not good enough.
