I guess both sides can be argued. For all we know he has a soft head.

It's simple for me:
1) He definitely had concussion - the doctors know what they are looking for, and it's been well established in rugby that players don't always know themselves if they're affected and sometimes only find out days after a game
2) No-one can ever know for sure whether the mistakes were caused by that concussion, or whether they were just terrible mistakes
Either way, he'd have to play like Gordon Banks for the first half of the season to get over making mistakes like that in such a big game. We should be looking for a new keeper.

Zafonte made his diagnosis using a physical exam, 30 tests (26 positive), and the footage. He’s an expert in head injuries at one of the best hospitals in the world. If you don’t find him or his methods to be reliable then I doubt you must be able to have any belief in Physical Medicine or maybe even medical science, full stop.
add to that one of the weirdest keeper errors you'll see and I think he at least deserves the benefit of the doubt - if he had issues with spacial awareness it would explain both errors - I honestly don't know why people find it so hard to believe - YNWA

Symptons can last for days, weeks or sometimes months and I think they said they reviewed footage of the game alongside the tests they carried out - I'm no expert but I can't see doctors who are making **** up just to make Karius feel better about his mistakes.Originally posted by baitman View Postyou do have to wonder just how accurate and reliable a test might be to diagnose concussion a week after the incident.

Make your own mind up about where it falls on the scale of probabilities, but if the latter is any more than vague possibility then you have to ask whether it is a good idea to go into next season with a keeper who might have been responsible for the biggest goalkeeper fail in living memory. Not a risk worth taking imo, especially as he hasn't been brilliant otherwise, rather decent at best more recently. I'd rather we got rid and expunged the whole debarrcle from our collective consciousness, but I doubt we'll do that, but we must buy a definite number 1.
I suspect we will stand behind hin etc etc, but I don't remember too many games were he was solely responsible for a clean sheet or saving us. Usually, teams have very little chances against us, more times than not, that leads to a clean sheet. He was the 2nd best keeper in Germany before he cam to us, and he is young but yep I agree, I'd rather we reboot on the whole keeper situation including number 2Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. I haven't ruled out the possibility. That doesn't say it affected his performance, that was something they only said was possible. Unless he was falling about the place at the time though nobody was going to be able to make that objective determination definitively.Originally posted by Snigger View Postquote from the report

Sure, I totally agree, but you were suggesting experts said it DID affect performance rather than might have.Originally posted by Snigger View PostNo but it says he was concussed ergo he could have had one or more of any of the symptoms that go with concussion and maybe explain one very strange keeper error and another unusual one.
