OK, just watched it back, what was the problem with Moreno and their second goal? Must have been pretty bad to write off his defensive performance as garbage, but i can't spot it.

It's that hands behind the body thing, put your arms out (in a natural position obviously) and get close enough to block the shot - if he hits the arm from two yards the ref is most unlikely to award a free/yellow card

I think that is something that Klopp is pushing in training. Quite a few of our defenders are doing that this season, more than I can recall in previous seasons anyway.

Think Matip did something similar in the run up to conceding against Chelsea. Think he was going in for a block/tackle and he seemed to pull his arms in behind his back and it looked a very conscious move rather than an automatic one as he seemed to hesitate with his arm movement for a second

Just think it was a clever cross from Zaha.

The hands behind the back thing looks daft but seems sensible to me.

Not based on the evidence of playing for us it isn't. He hit a couple straight into touch and shanked a couple more. He looks proper **** to be fair. Reminds me of Brad Jones. He must have something though otherwise he wouldn't get picked. Early days so I'm looking forward to him being decent soon.

He might not have the accuracy quite right yet but IMO he is more confident with the ball at his feet than Mignolet. My problem with Mignolet's distribution was that he looked like he never wanted the ball and when he got it he just needed to hoof it anywhere to get rid. Karius at least looks like he is trying to find people even if it doesn't come off.

Although the distribution isn't my main concern with either keeper.

Yeah I get that. Karius seems happy to have the ball but is wayward whereas mignolet panics.

Someone that can save goals usually works for me.

Kicking the ball out of play with style has to be an improvement right?

In all seriousness I think his kicking is a slight improvement on Mignolet, but he's only played a few games in this country and with this side, technically he looks better than Mignolet in this area so I imagine he will improve given time.

I however would prefer him to concentrate on improving his ability to deal with crosses and command his area first...

I'd rather he did that than give away a soft penalty for ball to hand

I hope everybody gets on board and allows themselves to enjoy it. There were plenty who thought it would blow up in their faces in 13/14 and missed out on a hell of a ride because of that. Fair does they were right but I personally can't live like that. It's on and I'm going to enjoy every second of it. Even after Burnley I knew it was on. Klopp's reds

On Moreno. He was brilliant but if you can't see a problem with a full back standing off a lad instead of closing him down and attempting to stop a a cross then you're mad. I get accused of being on a bandwagon against him but not seeing a problem with that is crazy. It's almost like folk are determined not to see anything he does as problem just cos he gets loads of stick. He was immense in that second half though. The hands behind the back thing is not the problem although it annoys the **** out of me.

I agree it is much better than Mignolet's, no doubt about that but I suspect your kicking game is also much better

He seems to be a 'lucky' goalkeeper in so far as his mistakes don't cost goals whereas Migs is the polar opposite on that front!

You would rather he backed off and made no attempt to block the cross than try and possibly give away a soft pen? Really?

It's mad. It's completely unnecessary to have your hands behind your back anyway, the law is "deliberate" handball, hands by your side in a natural fashion should never be at risk of giving a penalty away. We do have ****e refs though.

But who gives a **** we won.
