Obviously champions league qualification is the best we can achieve this season. It brings more money and potentially better signings. I'm not 100% convinced it's CL or paying mega wages that is the driving force these days in getting those players. But hey ho.

Does anyone else think CL dramatically diminishes our chances of winning the Title? The extra games involved means we need to sign a lot of players to strengthen the first team and to bolster the squad.

Personally I just want another title at ANY cost. It's all we should exist for. To aim to win it.

One or two big teams are probably going to miss out. I can't help thinking they have a big advantage next year. Like Chelsea have proved and us to a certain degree. Arsenal could be sitting pretty this time next year. Time will tell.

Agreeon the league title being affected by CL, but I feel like it's a catch 22 because you need to get the players in and CL helps.

Our best bet is almost to get CL two or three years in a row, drop out one year and aim for the league.

Agree with all those points above. We showed in the 2013/14 Rodgers's season how fresh you can be without European football. The Champion's League is great though and I guess we should learn to deal with the problems it brings rather than try to avoid them

For us In particular we need the CL to attract the players but also the increase in revenue to help with paying the higher wages that undoubtably the types of players we want will be demanding.

One thing is certain is we need to add quality and depth to the squad for next season

In the one season in isolation, probably would yeah. But you have to consider the more realistic medium term view. Regular CL and building a quality squad capable of dealing with that helps you become a team that can enter season after season with much better odds of winning the league than we'd get from having an odds bump from missing out on European football.
