Konate, Nunez and Alisson (that one mistake notwithstanding) have ranged between good and very good this season. Take Alisson out of a number of games and we would be worse off this season imho.
Thiago has been fairly decent most of the time too. Often isolated by his midfield partners but he still does his part more often than not.
Bobby started the season pretty well too.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

For 400k a week, definitely.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostBut is it on Mo to be carrying the team or should the team be chipping in more when Mo's goal and assist getting is "only" at a good level?
Though the bigger issue is not the smallish decrease on the amount of goals scored but instead the massive increase in goals at the other end.
The fact he's being paid an astronomical amount of money shouldn't dictate if he's dropped for poor form or not, though... he can't be untouchable and his form needs to be scrutinised as much anyone else...

Nobody suggested that he is untouchable or that he should not be dropped for bad form.
I just said that his goal and assist getting this season is simply good to very good instead of the amazing levels he was in in seasons past and that with his levels down a bit, the rest of the team need to be doing their bit to compensate for that.
A lot of our other main players are on very big wages too like VVD, TAA, Henderson and so on and are playing far worse than Mo in terms of doing what they used to be good at.
Also if Mo's form did drop to that of say TAA this season, who exactly do we have ready to step in that we would be sure of doing a better job and giving a better goal and assist return right now?
Mo is nowhere near the biggest problem the team has right now and would wager that if we had a more solid midfield unit at the moment that Mo's numbers would start to move upwards quickly.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

You are right though with the players you’ve mentioned, plus you can add Bajetic to that group. The others that’d we’d expect to score highly have failed miserably unfortunatelyMe, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Left him out as he has played in such a small sample of games plus I missed almost every game he played in this season
Think the only games I have seen him in where the CL games and the game on Tuesday night against Wolves.

So who do you replace him with right now from those available? Elliot?
We seem to have a lot of players being written off as being finished. Might beed aboout 15 new players in at this rate

I'd try Elliott there for a few games. Give Mo something to think about."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

So Elliot on the right wing with TAA behind him. Mo dropped, Nunez may or may not be fully fit. Jota out, Diaz out, Bobby out, and Gakpo still settling in.
Our front line would soon become as lacking in options as our centre.
TBH rather than drop Mo I would move him central given our current lack of options, and try Doak on the right flank before pushing Elliot there.
A front three of Gakpo, Mo and Doak or Nunez, Mo and Doak if Nunez was ready to play at the weekend.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
