I doubt much force will need to be applied. The club will be pleased that he's saying he wants to goo, makes getting rid of him easier.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostThe talk of promises not being kept suggests an opening salvo in a force-a-move-Isak-style operation.

Nah just thinking we never look to bring in a young player to take over or anyone that can really cover the role even if he’s out it’s always just Salah and no one else. Chiesa was meant to be but he doesn’t even play in that role when he gets minutes.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostFair enough, I thought there was some 4d chess theory that I was missing out on.

Yip agreed.
He has been at.liverpool about 8 years and has given about half a dozen interviews. And it is always when he wants to have a bitch

Salah speaking out is bad, should have been dealt with in house. But i feel sad for him. Deffo think he deserves to start more than Gakpo but not both together.

We couldn't have done much more? do **** all tracking dack and defending and just score goals and assist.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostThis will split us and none of us know, our bias will tilt us one way or the other. The club has publicly imploded tonight and Salah has been the catalyst, that is bad. However, I think Slot should be doing more to get the best from him and sacrificing him when others are as bad if not worse is a bad look for me
He didn't keep his end of the deal

He might have come out with this "outburst" as a pre-planned way of forcing the door open as he can get a move sorted while afcon is on.
For all his great goal contributions you must remember that salah is all about himself too, he has had previous where he has gobbed off in public, or had his agent drop stuff to the press...
If he wanted to stay this would not be done so publicly.

Very odd that he said it's his position, he's earned it, as if he's undropable. Just how long did he want the club to persevere with his form?Originally posted by Irishnev View PostI still think he can offer something to the team but not as a wide forward. We’ve gone full United now, this is a horrible implosion and both Mo’s and Slot’s future look untenable now

Leaving out Hugo or Isak to accommodate Mr Respect-Is-Due would be utter madness, and a sackable offence.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostCome on, that's a bit melodramatic.
Firstly, other than Konate and kerkes, nobody has been worse this season. And he won't defend. You can't "go back to basics" with him in the side. The idea to shift him to the middle and let him have a go a at being a CF might sound interesting as a theory, but it's not something you actually do, in actual games, at the expense of actual centre forwards. He's done at this level, and if anything, Slot left it far too long to make the call to drop him. If he's done it weeks ago things might not have got this bad for us.

Konate, Gakpo, Grav, Mac, Salah, Isak and Slot has been shocking at different stages. I think Kerkez who has been terribly utilised has actually done well.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostCome on, that's a bit melodramatic.

Salah has fallen off, no doubt but he has earned the right to be treated more respectfully than it’s seem he has been. The guy is an all time club legend and if that’s melodramatic then so be it

Not germane to the current situation. He's not worth a place in the team on current form.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostBut he isn’t the third highest scorer in the history of the club and a key figure in our most recent successes.
Not getting respect, and felling that he's not getting respect are two different things. What does Slot have to do to "show respect"? Get on his hands and knees and beg Salah to please sit on the bench? It looks like the only respect Salah wants is to play every game.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostThe guy is a legend and deserves respect while he feels he is not getting, for him to go to the press shows dysfunction.
Going to the press shows a gigantic ego, not dysfunction.
Technically superb at what? Constantly losing the ball? Ballooning the ball over the bar or straight at blockers 2 inches away? Hitting simple passes straight to opponents? There is no doubt that his physical elements are on the wane, yet the technical aspects of his game, i.e. retaining possession, passing, shooting have been extremely poor. You can argue that Gakpo is just as ineffective, and it's persuasive, but in Gakpo's favour at least he can run about a bit.Originally posted by Irishnev View Post
Yes he’s been poor but change his role then, use him differently, he’s still technically superb and a brilliant finisher. Gakpo has been taken off but he starts game after game and mills so much of our play.
We are not going to agree here, Salah isn’t right here but he isn’t fully wrong and for me Slot needs to shoulder a lot if the blame as well
