The only acceptable excuse for me would be if he's saying he'll only sign if Klopp signs.

Come on Jurgen, ball is in your court...
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Wouldn't be surprised as that's basically him saying I don't wanna play for Liverpool under anyone else other than Klopp so if Klopp goes, I wanna go too!

As someone mentioned earlier, the ball is in Klopp's court to keep a happy crowd.
Potentially, Klopp could sign another contract just to curry favour for Liverpool & still have the option to call it quits regardless of how long the contract is as long as he gives us notice.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Would seem a very odd condition. If he leaves, he definitely won't be playing for Klopp!

Why would the manager at a potential new club automatically be more appealing to him than whoever may replace Klopp down the line?

I'm sure his contract has nothing to do with Klopp but hypothetically he could be thinking that life is great now and Klopp is getting the best out of him, but if a new manager (out of his control) comes in, that could change. If Klopp is leaving, could be a good opportunity for a new experience and opportunity to try something else at a club and manager of his choosing.

He is acting a bit of a cunt now isn’t he - the timing of these interviews is a ****ing joke. Do it in the summer when we’ve won the lot

Did he request an interview to talk about his contract or was a sports magazine interviewing one of the biggest sports stars on the planet and it was inevitable this would be one of the discussion points?

Not being smart, genuinely wondering as like I said earlier, I assumed that was an extract from a bigger piece?

Chances are the interview would have taken place a month or so back.

It’s a lot of second guessing. He could go to a new club and they change manager within 12 months.

Of course, just like Klopp could leave, even if he signs a new contract. But if he knows 100% Klopp is leaving, that's not the same as joining a club, who he'd expect to be successful and know the length of the managers contract.

Anyway, it's all hypothetical, so doesn't really matter.

As it is on our part.

Let's face it (second guessing here), occam's razor - its probably down to money. Gini left and said it wasn't about money, as did Phil, despite earning more away. It's always about money, even when players say it isn't. It's like when racists say, i'm not being racist before going onto say something racist.

I know all interviews are most likely approved by the club but this is a distraction - if he is asked about the contract he should say it’s with the club and my advisors nothing else. We can see he is trying not to portray himself as being greedy - not about the money…..

What the **** else can it be about then because as far as I can see we are one of the best run clubs in the world, competing for titles, worlds class manager, world class colleagues and a team designed to get the best from him

It’s a distraction that takes focus away from our ultimate goals. These things are on both sides - I get that but it’s annoying as ****

                            That’s what I mean.

I doubt it’s anything to do with Klopp’s situation. It’ll be down to the terms of his own deal. Yes, likely down to money. If not salary then image rights maybe, or duration (total value) of the contract.

Agree with the points you are making, but personally I think there are enough cunts in football that it annoys me when one of the good guys gets portrayed as a cunt because he makes a decision that fans don't agree with and jump to their own conclusions why he made it. Even if it is purely financial, don't see why that should undo years of good work.

Anyway, I know you weren't calling him a cunt, I know the point you were making, but plenty of others will in the next 4-15 months.

And didn't mean to write cunt so many times, apologies to those who are offended by that word, Nev set the tone.

I’m annoyed that things are going so well and this will take the focus away from us. Salah is great and he isn’t a c$&t but I find all this contract nonsense so annoying on both sides (him and the club)
