I doubt he will ever recover his world class form.
There may be little sparkles against **** defences but he isnt the bolt of lightening he was once.

If we don't cash in to rebuild while we can it will be a mistake. If we allow him to stay then we will see him slowly swirl around and slowly dissappear down the plug hole.

I don’t think the cash in option really exists. Who’s going to buy him for mega bucks this summer, clubs that he would want to go to that is? I don’t see it. So we either get him to sign a disproportionately big and long contract for a fading/aging player or, more sensibly, we let him run his contract down and use the money earmarked for his signing on bonus and extra wages to get his replacement now.

We all wanted him to stay when he was a worldie, but if there was an offer floating round then we'd be daft not to consider it given his possible slow spiral into meh.

Do you think there is? If so, roughly how much would you expect and from whom?

So in six months the narrative has changed from “FSG need to pay whatever it takes to keep him” to “he’s ****/old and will never recover his form”

Mine hasn’t. Six months ago I was saying that we should pay what we can afford within our salary structure, and if that wasn’t enough then so be it.

Watching him continually cut inside and lose the hall the last few months has left an impression, I guess
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

We don't seem to get the ball to him before he's surrounded and it looks like he thinks his only option is to try that

The way he created that chance to get in at Courtois was beautiful

I have never said we should pay him whatever he wants.
He is one of our players, we have loved his excellent performances, but we also have to consider we have to live within out means.
If he is at the start of his downward spiral then we'd be mugs not to try and sell before he goes for a free.
Take off the rose tinted glasses and try and be pragmatic.

Salah has been right up there at the top of the goals scoring charts every season he has been here. He was joint top scorer this season having only turned up for half of it. It's hard to replace that level of goals. We will have to one day, and when that time comes we should trust the club will get it right, but as far as things go I'd rather a fresh Salah in the team from the start of next season than without.

Problem is he's supposed to have answers to these kind of predicaments. Instead my 10 year old shouts he's going to cut in now a few seconds before he cuts in. And not just once. That's how predictable he's become.

Yeah that was vintage Salah. So unlucky to not get the goal.

Perhaps it's because Mane occupies the space he drifts into whereas a player like Firmino would be between attack and midfield so it would leave room for Salah while TAA occupies Salah's space?
