I do think that the AFCON and World Cup disappointment with Egypt might have impacted him though to be honest. And the mental and physical exhaustion must be playing its part as well. And the agent and contract stand-off must not have helped either.

I know he has said that he will 100% be at LFC next season but to be honest I think if he didn't sign a new deal, then the ongoing speculation might end up impacting his form next season. Especially after the world cup.

I am kind of nonplussed about his contract to be honest though. Not because I don't think he is a brilliant player but for the following reasons:
    - Our recruitment has been very very good over the last 5 years or so, so although we won't be able to replace Salah with a like-for-like, I would expect us to find a solution.
    - Although Salah is amazing, we might find that other players take on responsibility to make things happen. We have seen it with Suarez, Coutinho, Torres, Gerrard........ when we have a superstar like that, then the default for a lot of the other players is to give them the ball.
    - Jurgen has signed a new deal. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't agree with the clubs stance on Mo. So it is a case of "In Jurgen we trust" but for me, if he is cool with Mo staying or leaving, then that will ****in do.

He did. The ‘he played well in the final’ line is just untrue. He got dispossessed repeatedly when he tried to take people on, which is usual now. No way he’s downed tools, and he obviously still possesses the talent but his head does appear to have gone somewhat.

Anyway, if he, Mane, whoever else, want to go then sell them to whoever and let’s sign the new Mo Salah, Mane etc. Or tell them to stfu and get on with the last year of their contracts.

EDIT: It has though, he has not been as fluid or sharp, touch has been heavy, he's hardly been able to beat a player & has been running down blind alleys and giving the ball away easily in most games in recent months. His work rate, commitment & desire is never in question, a world class player but not at his best since returning from AFCON. I just cannot understand how people can say his general play has not suffered in recent months, it's categorically untrue.

It clearly has, apart from a few games there has been a pretty obvious drop off in the quality of his general play since returning AFCON.

Not really no. Certainly some tired looking decision making and touches when he got back from Afcon. Just goes to show how heavily goals inform how people perceive forwards to be playing overall.

You said the words "downed" and "tools"

It's like the movie 'Meet the Parents' when he pulled over for saying the word "bomb" on a plane.

Physically & mentality drained imo, there has been a few games where he has looked sharp but most of his performances since AFCON have been way below his best. Not his fault, he has just played so many games.

I think leaking that he's keen to join another Premier League club is very poor form though from Salah and his agent. He needs to get a new agent sharpish IMO.

Thought the rumour was we offered him a 15% increase on the initial new contract offer and not a 15% increase on his current one?

Ah ok, well that would be much more reasonable.

We won’t give him a new contract till Manè has left. Salah will sign a new contract.

He's determined to run down his contract. Anyone can see that. He will leave on a free next summer and get a massive signing on fee from PSG. He wants that Mbappe money. And there is nothing we can do to stop it.
