This might be unpopular but does anyone think that Elliot might be an issue when it comes to the runs than Mo and Trent make and the positions they occupy?

Mo Salah

I think Mo is a law unto himself and is nowhere near as impactful this season. It’s a tactical decision, but it’s alienating him. Elliott is doing a decent job of holding the ball and playing the simple pass.
Salah is running down blind alleys and into trouble more often than not. So surprising…

Klopp's comments are nothing to do with how well Salah is playing - they are about his position on the pitch and whether it has changed from previous seasons - i.e. is he now spending more time out wide now than in the past.Originally posted by danperkins View PostAlways enjoy when people post Klopps comments about players. He is never going to throw any player under the bus. He actively takes the pressure off any player that is under media scrutiny, that's the type of guy he is. Behind closed though, different story imo.
The implication in some quarters is that Salah has been hamstrung so far this season by Klopp's instructions to stay wide; here Klopp is implicitly disputing that idea, stating that Salah spends no more time out wide than usual.
I thought that was obvious, but evidently not.

You take from it what you will. I'm talking about performances on the pitch and what seems to me to be Trent's inability to get past Mo's and get crosses in like he used to and Mo inability to do what he has been doing his whole LFC career. That's not slating Elliott merely saying it's different and something that's need more work to gain an understanding.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostKlopp's comments are nothing to do with how well Salah is playing - they are about his position on the pitch and whether it has changed from previous seasons - i.e. is he now spending more time out wide now than in the past.

I think its fairly obvious even last season, they all end up stood next to each other.Originally posted by danperkins View PostThis might be unpopular but does anyone think that Elliot might be an issue when it comes to the runs than Mo and Trent make and the positions they occupy?
You'd expect the quality of Salah/Trent should be able to adapt it.

For sure. Presumably they were in that space before as it was there to begin with, so if Elliot is there, they need to ****ing move.Originally posted by Liverpool View PostI think its fairly obvious even last season, they all end up stood next to each other.

I actually find Klopp quite honest in his assessments of games, he calls it out regularly in interviews when the team didn’t do something well but never individually because that’d be **** man management.Originally posted by danperkins View PostYou take from it what you will. Don’t expect the movements of the team from 3-4 years ago to be the same now. The coaching team has made a deliberate decision over the last 2 seasons to change the patterns of play.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

I agree he is very honest but he will never throw players under the bus publicly and is always very positive in his assessment. No doubts behind closed doors he is a bit more ruthless.Originally posted by Corndog View PostI actually find Klopp quite honest in his assessments of games, he calls it out regularly in interviews when the team didn’t do something well but never individually because that’d be **** man management.

There's been a humongous drop off in form, its quite alarming. It's like he doesn't give two ****s. He even laughs and smiles when he misses sitters!Originally posted by Kenneth View PostDoes 2019 Salah still exist, or is this the actual level of Mo salah in 2022? He’s looked a shadow of himself for seven months and I’m wondering how long a drop in form can last before it just becomes the new reality.

2021 Salah. He was being talked as the best player in the World from Summer to the turn of the year. Scoring wonder goals v City and Watford. He was also instrumental in our miracle run to third from nowhere the season before.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostDoes 2019 Salah still exist, or is this the actual level of Mo salah in 2022? He seems very isolated. We cannot get him into space at all and that is where he is at his best.
He had carried us for so long, but we need him to do so again.Modifying post.

I actually thought his movement and where he popped up was a little more like the Salah of old last night, didn't score but for the first time this season he looked a threat again.Originally posted by Buzzo View Post2021 Salah. The right side of our team is a mess; Trent seems all over the place and whilst I rate Harv I'm not sure he's helped the dynamic down the right.
Loads of work for the lot of them, hoping last night might be the wake up call needed as this sort of result/performance was coming.

It is like the discipline and shape has gone on that side. It is great having players roam when a team is fluid and getting results but when you are regularly getting punished for it you need to concentrate on getting the basics right. The flair will come back once we are back in a decent run of form.Originally posted by RichC View PostI actually thought his movement and where he popped up was a little more like the Salah of old last night, didn't score but for the first time this season he looked a threat again.
