We're getting overrun in midfield....maybe put another midfielder in there to help ? We have players who clearly don't fit in the positions they're getting shoehorned into (Elliott, gakpo, carvalho etc). Instead of absolutely crushing their confidence and careers here, why not try work on a new system. ****, why not just play 3 CB's and let TAA and Robbo push right up and go narrow in a midfield diamond? We have plenty of options despite the injuries to a couple of key players.

Instead we're doing the same thing every time hoping for a different outcome - and there's a famous saying along those lines...
agree with this, if we are stuck with current personnel which seems very likely then it is unsustainable to keep doing what we are doing. Players coming back from injury will be great but then other players will get injured too, so that won't be the answer. Klopp has tried to switch things to less possession and more of a counter attack approach vs certain sides but that system only works if you have pace in your side & unfortunately for us, that's the problem.... no legs. So aimless balls to non existent runners is irrelevant.

I like the idea of the 3-5-2 in certain games. Means we have 3 big mobile CB's and our "attacking" fullbacks can get higher up the pitch and do what they do best with that added bit of protection in behind. We already know our two fullbacks can put up insane numbers so it's not a negative formation with those two particular fullbacks in that setup.

Also, could shore up that midfield hole and provide protection for the backline too... is so important for us to be harder to play against. Might even allow Thiago or god forbid Keita to do what they do best of get the ball to to players in positions that actually matter and that can make a difference. All looks good on paper but **** knows but putting square pegs in round holes won't fix our problems.

I don't have as much faith in Elliot as alot of you guys, even if he is technically excellent & still very young. I'm just not sure if he has the pace to really excel in that left wing position which Mo currently occupies and we think that is his preferred role. As for Gakpo, I have no idea what he is, if he's any good, if he's suited for our style of play or where his best position is but what I do know is, watching us trying to fit Elliot & Gakpo into several positions & watching them fail, is no good for us as a team or for them as players.

Mo isn't playing well that is clear, as are most of our lads. He has set the highest standards and we are used to seeing him tearing teams apart but that seems a long way away. He is simply not playing well and we as a team as not playing well, the formation isn't working & something has to give. Anyways, in certain games i'd like to see something like this:

    ---------------------Alisson-----------------------
    -------Konate-------VVD---------Matip-----------
    Trent---------------------------------Robbo-------
    ---------------------Fab-------------------------
    -----Keita--------------------------Thiago-
    --------Salah-------------Nunez------

Harsh. Gakpo's clearly not a striker. He's been playing the Firmino role.

Thought he had quite a few nice touches on Saturday, you can see his link up play and he holds the ball well. Think he'll work in nicely with Nunez and Diaz eventually.

It is harsh and I won’t jump to conclusions but it’s just his demeanor that reminds me of him. He looks v soft

he's finished at LFC now and he's on a mega contract...He will occasionally show glimpses but imo he's peaked...

Not finished, but I agree that he’s already peaked.

Yeah he'll still score goals but I can't see him replicating that type scary form which we've gotten used too. Some actual shots on goal would be nice though.

What do you know? By your own admission you have lost interest and no longer follow the team

Absolutely but you don't need to be follow the team with much passion to know when players have downed tools,or are you watching a different team, And yes i don't watch the team nor do i watch motd, little interest in football only Fantasy football keeps me interested.

He hasn't registered a single shot on goal for three games in a row. He's definitely in poor form, irrelevant of other team performances around him.

He's suffering like almost all of them are with mental fatigue and being stuck in a rut. You can see it every time he gets the ball and goes on a run, he's on auto-pilot and ends up slamming into a defender, throws his arms up in the air and jogs back to position. Rinse and repeat.

The weak midfield performances aren't helping, nor the rotation of the front three due to constant injuries... but individually, you have a say on how you personally perform as well - and he just can't go past a defender like he used to, is struggling to create space for clear shooting chances and invariably it's blocked or the attack breaks down.

I'm not singling him out for criticism as it's happening all over the park. The mental fatigue is leading to brain farts everywhere... lapses in concentration at key moments and opposition scoring from it. They're all doing it. Exactly the reason FSG have been negligent in not reinforcing midfield in summer. Or now.
