And when we do he stumbles into a defender. I get that there are mitigating factors, but attempting to distract from him playing like an injured Jermaine Pennant is a losing battle. We all have eyes.

Selective eyes.
I’m not saying he is playing well by his own standards. I’m saying what are the options, the mitigating factors are completely relevant.
What’s the option? Who do you drop him for?he’s as likely as anyone and more likely than most to still get a goal from nowhere in poor form.
We need a player that not only provides a goal threat but also makes a nuisance of himself in and around the opposition box (so not like Trent, making a nuisance of himself for us around our box). So that puts him behind Darwin.
Since before it really, he hasn’t been great since the first half of 2022. He’s been putting in decent numbers by average standards but not what we have become used to. But he’s not given up, there is nothing in his character or past that suggests this mentality.
He’s definitely not playing well, but we can’t drop him or put him on the bench as Diaz and Jota are injured. So we have to play him every game.
He averages 50 games per season for us. And never gets injured. Imagine today, Salah gets benched as he has been in poor form, and we line up with Jota, Diaz and Nunez. But we can’t do that as 2 have been injured most of the season and the third is just coming back from injury.
Change the formation is the easy answer. Its clearly not working is it.
We're getting overrun in midfield....maybe put another midfielder in there to help ? We have players who clearly don't fit in the positions they're getting shoehorned into (Elliott, gakpo, carvalho etc). Instead of absolutely crushing their confidence and careers here, why not try work on a new system. ****, why not just play 3 CB's and let TAA and Robbo push right up and go narrow in a midfield diamond? We have plenty of options despite the injuries to a couple of key players.
Instead we're doing the same thing every time hoping for a different outcome - and there's a famous saying along those lines...

He will come good again, it’s laughable how myopic some people are.
He's been **** for nearly a whole year man
He was insane at the start of last season, off the charts. Then went to Africon, lost the final to his "mate" and has been a shadow of his former self ever since.

Loads of teams are playing 4231 these days & that could be a system best suited to us too. Play Fab & Bajetic holding would give us good cover when TAA & Robbo bomb on.
Ali
TAA Konate Joe Robbo
Fab Bajetic
Elliot Gakpo Nunez
Mo
Makes our midfield even weaker though as none of that front 4 are doing any defensive work

Yeah the fact he was amazing last year is why I think it's form.

To read some of this thread you would think Mo is choosing to play like ****. I just think like a number of our players be has been overplayed and is mentally and physically burnt out. When we get Jota and Diaz back we will have more options up front and the pressure will be off a bit. That should help him find his proper form again.
