Not in the league, he’s played nearly every league game every season he’s been here. Most he’s ever missed is 4 PL games in a 38 game season. 36, 38, 34, 37, 35 and all 19 so far this season. Bizarrely, he’s only ever played 15 domestic cup games for us and only 4 times in the league cup.

Add in a dozen CL games a season and internationals and I think he’s just rinsed.

Similar to Suarez in terms of fitness, although Salah has dipped at a much earlier age.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Right now we rarely have Nunez there to cause chaos or Diaz with his direct running. We have Salah who can be double marked in every game because none of the other attacking options we have been trying have much by way of pace or the ability to stretch play in the manner Diaz or Nunez could.

Defences can stay compact and keep their shape pretty all the time against us because they are not being dragged out of position on one flank which then leaves a bit more room ion the centre or on the other flank for us to attack through.

That's not a knock against Gakpo or Elliot as one is still adjusting to a new country and club and the other is a kid in his formative years, just that we have zero other established threats available up front and certainly none with geuine pace and aggression.

Still would not fix our midfield issues, but we have had a fair share of chances over the past ten or so games that I suspect may have returned more goals had we a better and more settled front line in place for those games. If nothing else if we had Diaz and Nunez fit and firing, we would have the ability to hit on the counter with pace.

Salah is still contributing a bit (again at a reduced level to before) with the goals and assists he has gotten alright especially if you compare him with TAA who we see as a major attacking option. One assist in all comps this season afaik and a string of switching off his brain moments.

I'm just glad Klopp never went along with the frankly mad idea that pops up online of moving TAA to midfield. If he cannot track runners from the RB role with only one flank to protect, I would hate to see him in the centre where he would have twice as many runners to fail to track.

I do have a bit of a hair brained theory about Salah this season though and that is that he has done a Mane and told Klopp behind closed doors that he is leaving next summer and that the signing of the new contract was his way of making sure the club got a fee (along with having a massive pay rise along the way). PSG is where I am convinced he is going to go to be the "face" of the Qatari owned club and that he will go for somewhere between 50m and 70m. That money then becoming part of our summer spend.
I had this conversation last week with one of my mates. Similar to what Ronaldo did at United, sign big contract so we get the bigger fee in the summer. It honestly wouldn't surprise me at all.

Regards lack of other forward options that would take the focus off Salah, yeah absolutely. Ah look, it's just been a disaster from the get go. Bad luck and bad planning, a bitter pill to swallow.

He should have scored yesterday tho. Was a terrible shot. If we had all forwards fit he could do with a few games on the bench. But we dont so he has to start every game.

A paper bag with a face drawn on it does not count as a mate.

At this stage, due to his silly wages, it may have be a free and if it is its now a 'meh'. Sad demise for the fella

If he carries on playing as he is then there won't be that much value in him. £25m tops

His value to Qatari owned PSG would go far beyond anything he could do on the pitch.

One of the most high profile players in the game today and probably the highest profile muslim player in the game. Getting Salah, even a faded Salah, would be a massive coup for them due to Salah's global reach.

Would also allow them to shed one of Messi or Neymar, most likely the latter.

FWIW, I think Salah could refind form somewhere else but has fallen out of love with doing it here

So Qatari's PSG.... or Newcastle then!

Nah, Newcastle nor Man City are in the mix in my head.

Qatar imo would love to have someone like Mo Salah - Globally known, clean living, hugely talented and muslim - be the face of many Qatari businesses and ventures and what better way to do that and further compound the connection than have him join the highest profile Qatari owned football club.

From Mo's pov he would get a fresh start in Paris, another big increase in his wages, win silverware pretty much every season and be in the CL every season.

And from Liverpool's pov there would be the chance to move our biggest wage earner off of the books whilst getting a decent sized transfer fee in. Also the chance to try to replace Salah with a younger player.(which is not saying another player would come in and just rack up Salah's old numbers easy as that, but a quality player nonetheless)
