I took his tweet as a real show of commitment.

I think we guys like Salah and Mane they do (did in the case of the latter) love the club and are happy to stay, but unlike a lot of players a massive pay hike for a Salah or Mane means them being able to pump more money into the projects they have going in their home countries too.

If a club like PSG offered Salah say 600k a week after taxes, for Salah that could mean being able to double what he could put away for projects etc.

For me that would be why Salah might leave. As for why a rich sports wash club like PSG would want Salah, well not hard to figure out why a clean cut highly marketable player, argubly the highest profile muslim footballer on the planet, who is also still a top tier player would interest a Qatari owned club.

I in no way want Salah to be sold, but have a sneaky feeling it might well happen if a bid well north of 100m came in and it was from a non PL club that he was open to joining.

And as to your last line, commented on that in reply to one of your other posts but yes I see that as the reaction of a winner whose competive ego has been hurt by what he deems utter failure and that sort of person will want to prove any perceived failures as having been flukes.

He is with us after next summer, then I expect his already good goal and assist tally from this season to rise sharply.

Though to put Salah's "crap" season in a bit of context. He is on 19 league goals with the potential of breaking into the 20s today. Michael Owen, who is regarded by many as one of our best strikers, never scored more than 19 league goals in a season.

Salah scores today and that will make it five out of six seasons with us in which he scored 20 or more league goal, his other "low" season being a 19 league goal one in 2019/20.

You feed chances to Salah and he is still very much the sharp end of the spear.

I really don’t care either way. This season was garbage, there needs to be some significant changes and klopp will do what he feels is best for next season. If that’s selling x or keeping y, so be it. We’ll all see how it’s gone in august.

Such a knee jerk reaction to a post that shows Salah cares.

Saying that, if we could sell him in the summer and get a younger, like for like replacement for the the same (or ideally lower) value then that would be great. Not sure if that's a realistic scenario though, especially without CL footy next year.

How much would Salah go for anyway? £80-£100m this summer, £60-70m next summer?

More like £40-£50 next summer due to his age

He's 31. And his game relies on pace and quick reactions. If he was as smart as Kenny I would say keep, but few players are. Sure he could have a great season, next (I would have sold him last season and as others have said, this season wasn't that bad once we started playing better) but if we get a decent bid I would sell. I don't like the comparisons to Owen and Fowler et al because it seems to me his conversion rate is vastly inferior to theirs - but saying that Mo creates a lot of his own chances, whereas they didn't. I do love Mo - he is a legend up there with the best, but this is a money game and his best years are definitely behind him. We shouldn't get ourselves into a position where our loyalty to players blinds us to the economics of running a club, however unpalatable that seems. Anyway, he's probably here next season anyway, so Go Mo, should mean something different in that context...
            Really?

To be fair he sets up a lot of goals too. He is not complety reliant on pace... but he may be on the decline. Still capable of hitting 30 a season in a functional team.

If we got 60m from PSG I hope we send a different scout than the one for Nunes to get a replacement

                Better the devil you know.

I think we should move him more centrally like we did with Mane, he has the feet and quick mindedness to play there.

Have Nunez and Diaz as the outer front players (interchangeable). GOALS.

Gakpo has to be central for me. Nunez... well... I thought he looked pretty crap from day two, but hopefully he will settle next season. I cant see him being more than a sub most games. A fit Jota will likely get in ahead of him.

Which is exactly why I would choose to drop him soon rather than wait until 30 becomes 15 or 10. I mean for some players we do accommodate into old age - like Rush and Barnes - which is great for the romance but not for team building.
I suppose it depends on when you think a forward's senescence begins - he does look after himself, so perhaps he's on top for a few years yet.
