Business sense vs Football sense will take over in the summer, £120m + for a 31-2 Year old makes perfect sense financially/buisness - Re football, you have to replace that output, but with the midfield reset a year older does then that take some weight off any new shoulders ?

Or with Real with MbappeOriginally posted by bacon View PostHe's so driven to succeed and the ultimate would be another CL trophy - the only real chance he gets for that is with us next season. I can see him sticking around just for that ..
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I'd be interested to see how the Saudi situation develops, obviously the big draw for the players is the money, but players have been able to attempt to hide behind "the project" etc. Now given that the top teams who have brought in some players from high profile clubs in Europe are only getting attendances of a few hundred does that impact players decisions? Will they just have to own the fact they are moving there for the money? Will the Saudi's up the money even further in an attempt to further attract people? Particularly with the WC being there in about 10 years.
Personally I think Salah would be mad to go there in the next few years, he's only going to turn 32 in the summer I think he could probably at least another 2-3 years at this level and achieve alot in Europe (hopefully still with us)The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

An official bid was made, which usually indicates some sort of encouragement from the player’s side.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostHe has to want to go though, there’s not a shred of evidence that he does at this stage.
I suspect he’s probably open to it, but at the same time not desperate to leave yet either.
I hope he stays for a few more years. He could still go and tear the Saudi league up when he’s 35..

Apart from when we made an official bid for CaicedoOriginally posted by Mark79 View PostAn official bid was made, which usually indicates some sort of encouragement from the player’s side.
Just messing, I know what you mean, but something didn’t add up with that Salah bid either- don’t get why they waited til the 11th hour, if they came in with the same offer in June when we’d have had enough time to sort a replacement, they would have gotten him I reckon (if he did want to move there).I don't tip

The club only bid because he indicated he’d be willing to join if they could agree a deal with Brighton.
With the Saudi Salah bid, it felt like it was more about kicking things off to get everyone on board for making it happen in a later window..
