Don't think I've ever seen another player prod the ball with the outside of their foot as much as Mo has this year. It's an odd technique, but he has created so many chances so far.

I'm curious if it's by design as it allows him to release the ball so quickly, with little to no swing required, or is it mostly to compensate for being predominantly one footed.

Could be a bit of both I suppose, but also results in some unusual passing angles which seems to catch out some defenders.

It's the most efficient way of putting spin on the ball and as he plays on the right it's the perfect method for bending it behind opponents.

He's also incredibly one footed.. so has no choice

But seriously, he was atrocious. He can bank the assist for the 3 yard pass to endo but he skied a sitter and lost the ball stumbling into defenders throughout.

He’s usually worse after the AFCON, so there’s that to look forward to.

We need to manage his minutes - and possibly his position. He's not the player he was. He's starting to look 'old' . He's been a machine ever since he signed. Hardly injured. Always wants to play. Great player but passed his peak.

The assist was more than just a 3 yard pass. Game slipping away from us, feverish atmosphere, having the strength and composure to hold the defenders off, spot Endo and play a perfectly weighted pass allowing him to strike first time was excellent play and ultimately decisive.

Should have scored from the rebound though, no excuse for that.

On current form, Harvey Elliott should be ahead of him in the pecking order. Actually, I’d play Diaz there to mix it up.

I’ve been wanting to see Diaz on the right for a while, good old style proper winger. Think he’d be great there.
