Lost count the amount of times he tried to dribble with the ball and either let it get away from him or just ran into the defender. Killed attack after attack. Even the pass to Trent was pretty poor. Shouldn't be hitting a scruffy pass, bobbling the ball to him there

Goal was a vintage Mo moment though. Would like to see more of that stuff. Showed he's still got a bit of venom in the legs.

Yep, despite the goal (great pass to him) I thought salah was pretty dire.

Still too reliant on him to score our goals (especially in Jota’s absence).
        Another MASSIVE game

The fluidity and understanding isn't there with rest of the front line, against a team better team like Arsenal he is going lose the ball more and more moves break down than in other games because of the quality of the opposition.

Despite how poorly some might think he played he scored a great goal and should have had an assist for the winner (when Trent hit the bar), the handball also denied him a clear opportunity. He was involved in all our big attacking moments.

I wish everyone else was as dire as him. He was involved in the three key moments. Scored the goal, won the pen (that wasn’t given) and lead the break to give the assist (for the chance that was missed).

I agree he is wasteful at times - but, he is always involved.

He was, but he also killed far more opportunities from great areas with basic errors. I do understand the ‘he scored our only goal’ sentiment, on paper he’s going well, but there’s so much wrong with his game on the pitch. As much as people said Utd will sacrifice too much for Ronaldo’s goals, we’re experiencing it with Salah now imo. Still think we were mad not to take the 200m.

A criticism seen of Salah a smile back was that he didn't dribble to beat his man what he does more often is use his dribbling to create space to play a pass. With the lack of understanding in the front 3 those passes aren't on, and he runs into players or out of room which is the frustrating side we see at the moment. I think when there is a better understanding between the forwards we will see Mo return to his best.

yup, we are getting into a bit of a habit saying Mo played poorly "apart from his goal" or "apart from his assist". I wish the other front lads would play as dire.

The only way I’d let Mo go is if we are getting Mbappe. All of the arguments above seemingly ignore that he is top 2 scorers and assists on the entire league. And what - we blame him for not providing more??? I agree he is wasteful but on this rationale if he sorts it out he is basically going to be scoring and assisting every game.

He is always judged to a far higher bar than everyone else.

We get a glimpse of a world without him soon. Here’s hoping you are all (or mainly all) right and we don’t need him.

Also I'm not sure Mbappe is as good as peak Salah... and his wages would be astronomical.

Honestly can’t believe some of the nonsense spouted on here with regards to Mo, he was a constant threat yesterday - scored a goal of individual brilliance and should have had an assist.

The post mortem pish that gets aimed at certain players every time we don’t win is embarrassing.

Also, he’s 31 not 41, so a good few seasons left in him at the top. If we can sort the other two forward positions out we are flying. And, he never gets injured (hers hoping that continues).

This thread makes me so angry.

Just 2 goals behind Haaland ffs.

Yes, I agree he wasn’t great but still scored a screamer.

You will all miss him when he’s gone!
