I think this is a great move personally. He'll still get plenty of goals and we'll definitely bring some further attacking support in as well. Plus if he does become an issue we can at least get some money from selling him.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

His g/a return cannot be argued with, and even if his return next season was 50% of what he has so far this season, it would be an amazing return for a wide player.
I do wonder if there will be a release clause of sorts (maybe a "gentleman's agrrement type thing as we as a club do not do formal release clauses) that can kick in after 12 months. Would be a way for player and club to have a potential exit plan without the drama of a final 12 months thing again. Been a few rumours floating about such an addition being part of why he may re-sign.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

There is some recency bias here. His recent form has been poor. A couple of months back we were all desperate for him to re-sign.
I still think it's amazing news. Yes he probably shouldn't play every minute any more, but he'd be a massive loss if he left and he has another two great years in him easy if we manage his play time a bit better.

As soon as he goes a game without a G or A people are readying their tweets/posts.
If he doesn’t score another goal this season his numbers will still be phenomenal. The biggest issue - and it’s not even really an issue as the other players have collectively got decent numbers as have we as a team - is our over reliance on him as a creative source.
I think this will be the area where we do see change in the summer as we don’t seem to have a 9 that fits the system. If we do it could change the weighting and dynamic of the front three dramatically.Modifying post.

Think it is important to add that his poor form is poor by the standards he has set rather than being poor for a "regular" winger.
His poor tends to equal what would be a good return by the majority of wingers in the league.
As said in another post, if he registered only 50% of his current tally, then that would be seen as an amazing season for pretty much any other winger in the league.
A "****" Mo Salah = A very good version of almost anyone else out wide in the league.
Do we need to be moving on with planning to replace him within the team? Of course so and I think if he leaves this summer our rebuild plan in terms of team set up changes to a huge degree.
But if he stays for another season or two, then his goal/assist return will be a nice "problem" for Slot to devise a way to keep within the team whilst building in other sources of said goals and assists at the same time.
For me whatever Salah does with regards his contract, it is pretty much a Win/Win situation for the club which might sound odd to say.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
