We went on some insane unbeaten runs with Salah in the team.

The amount of sensationalist content around this is mind blowing. It wasn’t even all that mental what he said - the predictable reaction has been nuts. I’m all for discussing what’s going on right now, even if it does involve Jamie Carragher putting himself into the front row with his 8 minute mega rant which contained a fair few shots below the belt.

But we cannot re write history.

Some people (and I’m mainly talking Twitter) clearly never really liked Salah. Some people only liked Salah.

We are in the endgame of his career with us one way or another, hopefully it can play out without anymore vitriol.

That's not what you said in your PM.

As for Carragher...that man is a buffoon whose latest obsession seems to be trying to rewrite Salah's history at the club.

Yep his rant was disgraceful. Personal and purely to gain some hits for Sky on their content.

A guy that personally got caught gobbing at a little girl in a car and survived that outrage should perhaps act with a bit more consideration and awareness of what’s truly disgusting.

Two things can be true at the same time, Salah has been a ****ing beast, one of the greatest players ever to play in the league and for LFC and nobody is rewriting history but also he made a huge mistake with this preplanned interview. He made it all about him after being benched for a few games when in truth, he really hasn't been playing well since February if we are honest and he should have been benched months ago. Yeah he didn't call anyone cunts but what he did was cunty. He knew Slot was under pressure and done that interview right after another last minute **** up when Slot was vulnerable. It was a real cunts move imo and even if I think Slot has been really poor this season, that was a poxy thing to do.

I've listened to a few people trying to defend Salah and what these apologists are basically saying, is this player is bigger than the club. Nobody is bigger than the club, absolutely nobody. The team comes first and just because your ego has taken a bit of bruising you decide to throw more petrol on the fire during a real crisis period at LFC. And on the eve on another hugely important game. The club owes him nothing, fella is a multi millionaire, has been adored by fans and made the record books at LFC. If any team really wants to be serial winners, sentiment can't come into it. If any player is not pulling their weight, is on the wane, acting the bollox etc regardless of what they done in the past, clubs have to be ruthless and act accordingly. It always has to be what is in the best interest of the club.

Now I don't know what's going to happen vs Brighton and Spurs, two tough games but since dropping Mo, we have been a better side even if it's a small sample size.

Throw in things like getting into spats outside of schools and a few other incidents and you start to realise that self awareness and/or genune contrition are seemingly not in his wheelhouse.

He just acts contrite when caught on video doing his shyte.

Disgraceful? It was 100% spot on

Youre sounding like one of the butthurt African/Muslims on twitter that support Mo, not the club ffs.

Nah, there’s a line of truth about Salah and what he did. But it wasn’t the one presented by Carra. Carra has become a massive ego and total gob****e in his own right.

How so? He's said he's been an amazing player, numerous times, one of the LFC greats - but its caught up with him. He's also called him out for never fronting up when the going gets tough, leaving media gigs to others (unless its to collect his Mom award lol) and only talking when he has an agenda, like now.

Don't see how thats rewriting his history. Nothing will take away his goals, or his importance/contribution to the TEAMS that have won the leagues + cups. The only thing that will tarnish that is himself, with how petulant he's acting now.

Mcateer saying similar too. No way does Mo score the amount go goals he's done over the years without guys like Hendo, Milly, Gini, Fab, Robbo, Trent, Dom, Grav, Macca etc running their guts out game after game. His name goes in the headlines because he gets the goals, but they're doing the leg work really. And the stuff about carrying us, he hasn't carried us at all. We've had a ****ing amazing team the entire time he's been here. It was Ali and VVD that pushed us to the next level if you really want to be picky.

It’s all his opinion. He says ‘I think’ about 100 times.

You can agree or disagree with it if it aligns to your preconceived notion of Salah. But there’s not a bit of fact from Carra around the why of it.

I don’t think what Salah did was right either, but I also don’t know any of the background if the club have started to explore selling him etc, and certainly couldn’t speculate for 8 mins.

Carra just provides noise, as he’s paid to, but ultimately it’s just his opinion.

I think others, with less profile, have articulated what went on with far greater clarity, and less use of ‘I think’.

ok so youre basically discrediting his entire argument because his vocabulary isn't up to your lofty standards. Harsh

Eh what are you talking about?

It’s got nothing to do with his vocabulary? Where did I say that?

I’m saying it’s just his opinion. It’s not even his argument. He has no more a clue than you or I about what’s going on. His opinion just gets reinterpreted as fact.

There's nothing to be sentimental about. He deserves to be out of the team, he can't handle that and lashed out, so we have to ignore him, get rid asap, and focus on performances going forward. We don't need mo Salah.

FWIW I don’t see a way forward with Salah either.

I’m just saying that Carra in particular has taken what he ‘thinks’ went on and run with it. He hasn’t got a clue either. As Stevie says, and he probably is a few steps too far into the Salah forgiveness camp - he’s not the first for it to go this way and he won’t be the last.

                                There's a Klopp quote on the BBC about that, sums up what happened when Slot dropped him for what he perceived to be the good of the team;

"I wouldn't say he is easy to manage, but he is also not difficult to manage. You [only] have problems with Mo Salah if he is not playing or you take him off."
