The US would fit his profile perfectly sports wise, less so politically and religiously.

If he went.Originally posted by red g View PostWhy on a free? I know we save 20 million in wages but he wanted to go. We could still fetch a fortunevfrom Saudi's.
If not we pay him his wages for another 12 months for nothing.
This is obvs a gentlemens agreement and probably already in his contract.

I hate players leaving on a free (from my young champ manager days probably and with the current PSR constraints).Originally posted by red g View PostWhy on a free? I know we save 20 million in wages but he wanted to go. We could still fetch a fortunevfrom Saudi's.
But we can't begrudge him a free, if every player produced close to that output over 8 years you'd take it all day long.
His market value is probably £20-30m but that's nothing like as annoying as it was with Trent, Owen, etc.

Yeah.Originally posted by swishtz View PostYet again at a crunch part of the season, it's all about him...
What has Mo ever delivered for us at a crunch part of the season?

(This is the exact same PR format that has been used by the club for other high profile departures).Modifying post.

I think that the club have been very decent to him and leaving on a free is a nice goodbye gesture that shows the calss that liverpool have for its legendsOriginally posted by red g View PostWhy on a free? He deserves it.Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

It could also be about any potential new manager not having to deal with any Salah issues. If he was sold and we only heard about it after the season finished the new manager might take some unnecessary heat for kicking out a legend no matter what anyone said about it from the club side. Plus you don’t know how long it could take to sell someone so it could have an impact on incomings. Now they can go ahead with planks for his replacement knowing what the deal is.
Plus it means Salah gets the send off he deserves on the final day.

I think it’s a pragmatic solution that respects Mo and saves the club on salary. Perfect timing with the international break too.
It’s up to him now whether he wants to head to Italy, the MLS or Saudi. Realistically he could do a couple of seasons at Roma, then move to the MLS and still be good enough to compete in the Saudi league after that.
It may be more of a family decision. I suspect the longer he leaves it the less wilingl his girls will be to do the Saudi experience. We are here for a good time not a long time....

Convo's would have been had with Remy, I do think before his outburst, Salah forced the issue when he wasn't in the squad and we find ourselves here today, probably one of the most brilliant players I have seen but for me comes across in recent times as a money whore.
