I think we need this comp to justify keeping some players here to train rather than sending them on loan. If we go out then I can see Ings, maybe Ward and one or two others going out on loan in the next window. Might get them more games, but they're not training with us, which I see as a disadvantage to their development.

Considering this is the only cup we have won this decade we shouldn't be turning our nose up to it. This is the worst run for the club not winning anything since before the Shankly days.

It's tactics though, they were happy to let us have possession in the first as they knew they just had to control the box which they did. They've opened up in the second and well, we've just had a poor night.
