if we were putting more men in the final third between the opposition defensive lines and we were to vary our play to include going wide and cutting back or the odd semi-long ball we know we would not maintain possession but its then an opportunity to put the pressure on the other team because now they will have the ball...

its not often a high ball into the box from wide will be useful as a direct goal threat as they will have all their big defensive lumps in there, but we would then be better placed to gain the second ball right in their goal area.

We are too passive and too predictable. Trent just swings balls in with no apparent target and the opponents have an easy time, as 95% of the balls go directly to them. Robbo, plays the ball backwards far too often and the opponents get more bodies behind the ball

Just run at the ****ers and get into the 16 metre box. Dribble through them and score, get to the byline in the 5 metre box and cut back for a tap in, or enough pelanties to even make the mancs happy

Change the formation. Go diamond, go 4-4-2, use players that would only usually play five minutes (except fecking Origi). We'd lose games, sure. But at least we die trying. I hate deaths through 1000 paper cuts. Every team and their fecking dog has sussed out our 433. Then don't go 433 and see how they respond.

might need to buy Haaland or someone similar that will own the ****in 18 yard box. Then all of a sudden the endless crosses by trent and robbo are impactful.

The beauty of Haaland is that it seems like he would also be effective running from deep - so when we play against a team that doesn't put 11 men behind the ball, then he'd be effective too.
