Exactly my thoughts. Honestly, having 4th is the priority by any means possible, but in theory this should be simple.

I actually take heart in how we dispatched Middlesbrough under similar terms last season. It's a pity that things aren't wrapped up by now, but having a live game before the break isn't actually terrible (if we win).

Full strength, full pelt, get a 2 or 3 goal cushion then think about resting players but really we have 2 weeks off before the final. Its all or nothing this weekend ... We have a better cushion but we still have a job to do, if City can turn them over so can we

Unfortunately for us our run in the champs league has taken its toll and we have dropped a lot of points on the back of our champs league exploits. Our lack of quality in the squad and injuries in key areas have seen us drop lots of points.

Results before, during and after champs league games.

Drew with Chelsea after playing Sevilla
Drew with Everton after playing Spartak
Lost to United after playing Porto 2nd leg
Drew with Everton after playing City 1st leg
Drew with West Brom before Roma 1st leg
Drew with Stoke after Roma 1st leg
Lost to Chelsea after Roma 2nd leg

IMO alot of these poor results are directly related to the champs league, where it's focus or burnout. A bigger/better squad or no champs league and we would have finished above the mancs.

          Agreed

Our squad was thin anyway and with injuries picked up (and the sale of Coutinho) its thinner

We also look physically knackered and to me its been telling that when it gets to 60-70 minutes in the last few months we have dropped off the pace. A few times it hasnt affected the result

We've had a weeks rest and it would be nice to think that was enough but my feeling is come 70 minutes we will be running on fumes again and without the ability to make changes theres always that risk as with West Brom & Roma that we will concede

I said a few weeks back that despite many of us thinking the defence needs addressing again, the midfield and forward positions look equally if not more in need of an injection of bodies as the current back up players arent anywhere near the quality required. I wouldnt be adverse to Klopp spending the vast bulk of his money on forwards and attacking midfielders again

I think this transfer window will dictate or indicate where we go as a club from here under klopp. We NEED a good few players, the squad is bare and cant compete in multiple competitions.

I personally think we NEED 2 Forwards/Attacking mids, 2 central mids, 1 Centre Half, 1 Goal keeper. On top of that I would like to see some more cover for fullback positions.

Plus that all depends on who leaves in the summer also.

I would like... Fakir, Lemar, Neves and a few more

Yep pretty much agreed with all that

Not sure I would go Fekir & Lemar though, Fekir yes but not sure we need both

Definitely. The impact of these massive games cannot be underestimated, particularly when we are relying on either the same starting XI, or as we have begun to realise inferior replacements.

Prior to the resumption of the CL we we're in decent form in the League. I am sure we were up there with the best 10-15 game records in Europe.

Lemar looks decent, but not at £90m.

Fekir seems a far better option.

Instead of Lemar I would rather go for Maddison from Norwich and one of Pulisic or Sessegnon as that would really fatten out the squad

Well to compete I think we need the depth. One bad injury or long cup campaign and you become ****ed again. We need to be a bit more like City and the likes and get greedy with quality in the squad haha

Rolled over twice for us, took points off Chelsea.

Lemar has been fairly average of late

I think that we would have had 3rd place tied up now and have been battling man utd for 2nd were it not for our CL run, even with the injuries we have. Our current team is IMO 2nd best in the league. But the squad is lacking quality when first teamers are out and we don't have the numbers to cope with 2 games a week.
