The referee for Liverpool's Champions League showdown at Roma has been announced – and the Reds have a 100% losing record under him.

Damir Skomina of Slovenia will take charge of Wednesday's semi-final second leg at the Stadio Olimpico, with Jurgen Klopp's side holding a 5-2 advantage from last week's first leg at Anfield.

Skomina has refereed Liverpool on three previous occasions, with the Reds losing every time.

The first was in the Champions League group stage in 2009, when Fiorentina won a dead rubber at Anfield 2-1.
nd Skomina's most recent match officiating the Reds was the first leg of the Europa League semi-final two years ago, when Klopp's men went down 1-0 at Villarreal.

Mind you, Roma could also have reasons to be fearful.

The referee has helmed two Roma games, neither of which the Italians have won – a 3-2 loss at Panathinaikos in the Europa League in 2010, and the 3-3 Champions League group draw at Chelsea earlier this season.
cheers - was more worried about cards and having a loon in charge.

Pick us out the Everton lineup then.

That all sounds a bit conspiracy theory. It's metronidazole I'm on. What about that? When I was prescribed it they did warn me to avoid alcohol at all costs. Apparently it makes you vomit like a mother****er.

Deep inside I am super confident but then I remember that liverpool never make things easy for us fans. The ignominy of throwing away a 5 goal lead would absolutely gall me and that is what worries me the most - no 6 is there for the taking if we get our **** together.

Today has been a struggle work wise and my stomach is bubbling non stop......I am wondering how did I manage this during the Rafa era when it was the norm!

              31 Raheem Sterling 69'
              45 Mario Balotelli
That was the day I knew Rodgers was a fraud. Totally lost all support of him when he put that team out. Proper small club mentality.

What's the numbers beside Moreno and Skrtel mean? Did we just take them off and decide they weren't even worth replacing?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                  !
That's it for me; if we **** it, all the talk & the inevitable piss taking will be about being 5-0 up after 80mins & blowing it in a semi-final.......

Ah ****, that's made me feel worse.

Added to that is that my 10yr old will be desperate to watch it, without any of the concerns i have rattling around my head based on the history of LFC making every simple step a million times harder than necessary; so even if i want to avoid the 1st half & watch it delayed knowing the score i know that isn't an option.

The CL games are funny this season. Total lack of nerves for me before them whereas some league games against the so called lesser clubs have me feeling the opposite way.

Think we are going to win by two or three goals tonight. They have to come at us and are in a position where they cannot shut up shop should they get a goal or two.

We are probably one of the worst teams to play against if your gametime is to attack. I see it going like the last game. Them trying to start fast and press us, maybe even getting an early goal this time. Us then getting into gear and notching a few goals.

Their usual game, especially at home, involves playing a high line to press and I do not think they can afford to try and sit back and be patient because they longer they go without a goal the more restless their support will become.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Should be enjoying this - but in pieces.

I don't even think it's fear or losing the game - just don't want this run to end. It's been amazing so far and not ready for it to stop.

                        I don't think that's true.

Anyway, i remember backs to the days of Rafa when we were kings of Europe a few pals would run a book on who could predict the line up, only a few quid a go... Without fail it got into the hundreds before anyone collected.

like the other week I've managed to keep myself pretty busy most of the day

but now - I've done what I wanted to do workwise and it's literally just **** my pants time till kick off.

I am ****ing bricking it - this 'dead time' kills me - i'll be alright when I get the pub/with my mates and the match gets going - but the next three hours I've got nothing to do but stress/pace up and down the living room

                          my heads ****ted with it

Probably a good guess considering the players in question.

them four in particular have been massive blows in terms of being able to rotate the squad in the run in

I've not lost to much **** over the west brom and stoke draws - they were frustrating, but for me was get through them, get the point and keep what we have fresh for the European games

had we had those four fit it would at least allowed us to rotate and bring some decent quality for stoke/west brom
