Thats a lot of new players to give debuts for away at Anfield. Fingers crossed.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostNever mind, https://www.football.london/west-ham...tings-14995528
Seems their defensive signings are still getting up to speed.
Adrian
Fredricks - Ogbonna - Balbuena - Masuaku
Yarmolenko - Noble - Wilshere - Anderson
Arnautovic - Hernandez
This is not an unlikely line-up based on their pre-season, the strongest opponents they play played were Mainz and Aston Villa, so hard to read much into that. But seems they had a solid if unspectacular pre-season.
Players in with a shout are Fabianzski, Antonio, Diop and Zabaleta. Obiang was very poor according to that.Modifying post.

I'm kinda relieved Carroll isn't playing. I could already see him punching Alisson's face after a set-piece (like he did Mignolet a few seasons ago), causing him to drop the ball in the box on his debut and naturally getting the English press on his back for the rest of the year. The absolute worst cunt in a club full of them.
Klopp says Fabinho's scan was 100% fine but he did miss a session due to illness, Klavan and Lovren unavailable but Gomez should be ok. No idea about Milner, but Henderson is very fit. And lots of nice words about Sturridge.

Three CBs out for the first game of the season in Klaven, Lovern, and Matip.
Gomez or Philips then which is not ideal, although we have used Wijnaldum at CB in the league before and also Grucic during pre season.
Still wish we had bought another VVD level CB though, but the quality we have in the centre and especially up front should be more than enough to counter being a bit light at the back against the likes of West HamI don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Would be very surprised if Fabinho was used as a centre back. He started his career as a right back before moving into midfield, but don't think he played many times at CB if at all.
Am expecting to see him start, if he is fully fit, in the deepest CM role on Sunday and be the one who shilds the starting CBsI don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yeah, and their new CB's haven't been setting pre-season on fire either. Adrian would be out to prove himself though to keep the Nr. 1 spot.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostThats a lot of new players to give debuts for away at Anfield. Don't both with 2 center backs. Defending is ****in over-rated!!!
--------------------------------ALISSON---------------------------------
TRENT--------------------------VIRGIL--------------------ROBERTSON
---------------------------------FABINHO--------------------------------
-------------HENDERSON---------------------KEITA---------------------
---------------------------------SHAQIRI---------------------------------
----SALAH-----------------------FIRMINO-----------------------MANE---
Virgil would be sat on the halfway line chatting to Fabinho. The rest of the team would be attacking the **** out of it!!! West Ham wouldn't leave their own half.

He finished the game against Torino there which was a bit telling. But if Gomez is fit he'll play IMO. Phillips is nowhere near ready.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostWould be very surprised if Fabinho was used as a centre back.
