Whose team would win & what would your best X1 be of your generation

Great game this. I prefer your team, but I was thinking the other day about Virgil and Jockey comparisons. Virgil is clearly the stronger faster fitter player, but that's because the game has moved on and become faster fitter etc. Sadly I think on balance his team would beat yours, but for the level they were in their generation, I think yours is superior. I would have Barnes instead of Suarez I think. Can't believe God is only on the bench, but then his maker is in number 9... Ace team. Emlyn on the bench as well...

As for your son's team - Owen ahead of Torres???

Whose team would win & what would your best X1 be of your generation

Generation mightn’t be the right word for some of us who have spanned a few generations - maybe if your time actively supporting the club.

For me I have been following Liverpool ‘properly’ since 1986 so although some great players played when I was young I didn’t see enough of them or appreciate them properly - Kenny, Hansen are the tow that spring to mind.

For me: 4-2-3-1

GK - Alisson - even after half a season he is better than his only viable completion in Reina.

RB - Marcus Babbel - could have been so much more before he got ill.

LB - Robbo - again a problem position in my lifetime and even in his short time he is the best for me.

CB - VVD

CB - Hyppia

CM - Alonso

CM - Molby

AML - Barnes

AMR - Gerrard - Rafa played him off the right in his team and it was his most productive.

AMC - Suarez

CF - Rush

Subs - Reina, Carra, Nicol, Mascherano, Torres, Beardsley, Salah

I like that this is just for fun as opposed to the absolute ball ache of getting them together to play a match

I loved Jan Molby, but surely you only need one of him or Xabi?

I struggled for that other spot and considered Barnes there but wide left is where he ruled. McMahon was under rated and I also loved Masch but he screwed us over.....no other midfielder stood out so Molby and Alonso it is. Think how they’d dominate the midfield.

yes was tough decision but you cant leave out Rushie as for Owen over Torres couldnt agree more Owen not even on my bench
