I rate Milner as one of the best players in the past 20 years for sure, criminally underrated in my book, he is a total legend. On form, he is just bosses games, a lot more mobile than Javi and Alonso plays in 5 not the 8 role

But hey I can see why putting Millie in your top team of living memory may raise a few eyebrows and it will keep me up tonight wondering if I could have made a better choice ; )

Great question! Will try this out with my mates on Saturday.

Hard to decide whether those I barely remember but who were in my lifetime count, or whether it's just those I can actually remember being great myself. Assuming the latter, of the top of my head, I'd go for a 4-2-4 to squeeze these all in:

MacManaman should be in there though, Redknapp at his best too, and Babbel, Alonso, Hyppia, Hansen, Rush, Torres, Owen, Mascherano...

Noticeable how weak we've been at full-back though. Everyone's choice post-80s has only had a couple of seasons at most where they've been great....hopefully Robbo and Trent will stay for 10 years and correct that for future generations!
