Actually **** it I'm having Coutinho in there instead of Alonso. Controversial I know, but Xabi scored less and had a few dodgy spells for us. Coutinho scored some incredible goals. Alonso realistically played his best football after he left us.

Really difficult one, I've been an LFC fan since about 86/87 but I would only have been 5 or 6 at the time so the first few years I don't really remember too well. Technically Kenny was still a player, but he rarely played

Centre backs: Hansen, Hyypia, Carragher, VVD
Centre mid: Gerrard, Hamann, Alonso, Mascherano, Molby

That would be one hell of a 25 man squad

Great game this. I prefer your team, but I was thinking the other day about Virgil and Jockey comparisons. Virgil is clearly the stronger faster fitter player, but that's because the game has moved on and become faster fitter etc. Sadly I think on balance his team would beat yours, but for the level they were in their generation, I think yours is superior. I would have Barnes instead of Suarez I think. Can't believe God is only on the bench, but then his maker is in number 9... Ace team. Emlyn on the bench as well...

As for your son's team - Owen ahead of Torres???

Hi it’s bradsdad son who originally challenged my dad to this. In response of this I loved Torres and killed me when he left however you can’t argue with Owen. He won what is now the balon do’r at Liverpool something nobody has done since. Being a kid when Owen was at the club he was what I was brought up on and my first memories. Then he joined the scum so I don’t like the guy but can’t deny him when he was at anfield!

Just another quick note to everyone the rule was only 3 subs as my dad failed to put in!

Dalglish as false nine, dropping in to make a three with Alonso and Souness with Salah and Suarez narrow and running onto 100 through-balls per game.

If I had to choose one player though, PFK is the single worst player I have ever seen in a red shirt.

PFK was a shocker but Phillip Degen, Aly cissohko and Andrea dossena were equally as **** if not more so.
