It's usual bollocks. Back in the 90s I couldn't believe there were never any real challengers to a largely ok but nothing that special Utd team. Have to admit I was over joyed when Arsenal and then Abramovich appeared (I've had a hard life). Even then the rest of the league couldn't bend over backwards quick enough to take a good bumming from Utd for old times sakes and it would drive me mad.

Why was the PL weak back then? Because Utd usually did feck all in Europe apart from a very select few seasons.
    One tit for another.

Shows just how remarkable an achievement Arsenal's undefeated season was.

No one was ever gonna dispute that what Arsenal did that year was great. If we had done it this year, it wouldn’t make Arsenal’s invincibles ****...

But what we are doing this year is better than them.. City’s centurions were better.. that invincibles team didn’t even beat every team in the league- 2 draws against United and against Portsmouth.. in the final few months, they had no cup/CL distractions and so went all out to get that record... by holding on for draws...

I don’t mean to bash them- they are absolutely one of the great PL teams... but we don’t need to sit here and lead a wankathon about them either- we’re making history right now ourselves!

Unbeaten was a phenomenal achievement. That said, in a league you aim to get as many points as possible not as many non-defeats. City's 100 point haul is more impressive but probably less marketable.

Drawing every game could get you relegated

Couldn't have been a better time for a reality checking blip. If the lead had been less than 10pts we would be starting to get twitchy. If there hadn't been a 3 week gap between the CL games we could've been out already.

As it is, this could be the end of the blip and the march to two titles should get back on track this weekend

Or it could be the start of a longer period of mediocre performances, with us being knocked out of Europe next week (which I think will happen).

The problem with a little run like this is that it breeds confidence in the opposition. Atletico started it, bullying us and working hard. That's now seen as the blueprint to our demise. I expect to see a few more losses yet unfortunately. Thank **** the league is pretty safe.

Guess we'll find out next week but it would be equally odd to stop winning any games after dominating for so long

Just as well we shot out into a massive lead, we look very poor and hopefully we dont squander this lead too much.
I dont doubt we've won the league but I'd hate it to turn into an anticlimax.

Nah, all title winning teams go through a blip. Look at City last season, they lost to Palace at home and someone else (Newcastle) in a short period.

This is arguably our worst run in the League in 18 months, and it constitutes 1 defeat. Even with that we still have the most points in the League over the last 5 games.

Losing away at Athletico was no disgrace it just looks worse because of the following results. We need to turn it round obviously. But I see no reason as to why we wont. I kind of rule out last nights game as we weren't at full strength.

The biggest worry is Virgil, he is the only player who hasn't really had a rest, and he certainly looks like he could do with handing the arm band back to Hendo or Milner and getting back to what he does best.

I don't buy Virgil needing a rest, he just had week off recently, like fully off, we just tend to lose our rythm after breaks and teams are adapting to our game, bound to happen, Klopp will tweak something and find a solution, just hopefully sooner rather than later.
