I know that there are bigger issues with this than football, but it feels like the most Liverpool thing that could happen: for 30 years we barely get a sniff of the title, suddenly we are walking the league, it looks like like no one can stop us in a footballing sense, then out of nowhere this comes along, the season could be cancelled and we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Some people at clubs want the season voided. Gulp.

I hope they see sense and postpone rather than truncate.
        Oh I don't know.

With leagues all around Europe being on the brink of being cancelled, maybe Uefa might say, look let’s postpone the euros til 2021, that allows everyone to finish their leagues in June/July if needed and also allows us to finish the champions league and Europa league...
          I don't tip

With the Qatar World Cup looming over the horizon, the football calendar looks set to be turned upside down for a few years.
            Oh I don't know.

I fear the worst. I think they’ll draw a line under it.

I know there’s a bigger real world picture here. But in near 30 years of ups and downs following this club, this is without doubt going to be the most crushing disappointment

I think that they will suspend it but they can't suspend it indefinately, and if they can't restart in a sensible time frame I think voiding it becomes the only remaining option.

The fact that it is being discussed makes it a real possibility, and presumably there would be alot of clubs in favour, out of their own self interest (to avoid relegation or because as things stand the might miss out on Europe), or those that just don't want us to win the league, there are also sides that won't want it to affect next season.

I just about survived the slip. Then the jammy Kompany 40 yarder. But this is ridiculous luck. Either karma will swing heavily to even out where we win 5 PLs in a row or its time for me to give up football.
                  One tit for another.

Surely the monetary factors behind cancelling the season, contracts, having to stay in Championship etc, will make cancelling it an absolute nightmare. You would literally be taking hundreds of millions off the likes of West Brom.

Apart from us, I feel for the clubs from lower divisions. This will likely put a lot out of business if it’s prolonged.

That will be the teams fighting against relegation and the bitters. Probably Spurs too to guarantee another season in the Champions League, and maybe Chelsea for the same reason.

not having it at all, i just put this in the other thread also; Not having conclusion or a voiding is the worst of all options.

"They simply cannot void the leagues arbitrarily; top championship clubs would go under, let alone smaller clubs. The fallout would be of epic proportions".

The data i have read is that come the summer, this will ease & by then an antidote/vaccination will be in place; we need to remember that whilst we are in full meltdown mode, the Chinese appear to have massively reduced the new cases & they are a country of what 1.2billion. As serious as the next 2 months will be, knee jerk voiding is unnecessary

It's a nightmare either way, but it is probably more justifiable to deny someone promotion or a title than relegate someone unfairly.

I just can't see them voiding the the season, not immediately anyway. Initial suspension and then re-assessment(s). If the Euro's aren't taking place that will give some extra leeway to extend into the summer.

There's a good chance it'll ease by the summer however there will be no vaccination by then. A minimum of a year away from that.
