Mad seeing all the scenes from places all over like Algeria, African countries, America etc then at home we had that yesterday. This is why everyone hates us, because no one can do it like us.

Love watching all this stuff back safe in the knowledge we went on to win the thing.

We really did look a relaxed bunch going into this massive gigantic game of football.

Feel sorry for the players who have to go and play for their countries now. Though Jordan an Trent should be fairly buoyant in front of Kane and Alli.

I’ve watched a lot of the game back and I felt Hoddle skewed the narrative of the match on Saturday at full time with his incessant ‘Spurs were the better team’. I thought Spurs were absolutely terrible
. Alli, Kane, Eriksen were abysmal. They had some moments of fluid possession, mainly through Son but that was it. First shot on goal was the 78th minute. We had the goal, shot by Robbo, shot just wide by Trent and about 8 corners (all shockers). All the chances Spurs had were weak shots from distance between 80 mins and us going 2 up.

We were professional. We had a lead to protect from pretty much kick off and we did.

All that mattered was the result, bundling the win across the line in 90 was perfect and getting the second so we didn’t have to listen to them moan about the pen for the rest of time was perfect. We don’t have to provide heart stopping last second wins every time, and a dull 2-0 felt about perfect to me.

I was glad Rio Ferdinand pointed out that he didn’t recall his CL win v Chelsea being much of a game, but that he couldn’t care less.
I was watching in America so didn't have to listen to their crap live, but I have seen it since and have heard alot of people saying that spurs were the better side. For me that wasn't the case, I thought we were poor but for most of the first 70 mins we created the better chances (or half chances), there was the pen, TAA and Robertson had those efforts, Milner had one that just went the wrong side of the post and there were a couple of others, I remember Eriksson hitting one about 10 yards high and 10 yards wide just before half time (I think) but that was about it. I never felt in that time that Spurs were going to score and while we didn't look that threatening, we had the lead and I thought were more like to score again than they were to equalize. Sure they might have had more possession but they did nothing with it.

They were the better side from the 70 minute mark where they started to go for it and had some decent chances, VVD denied Son with ease and aside from the freekick watching them back (without the tension/emotion) the rest were all fairly comfortable/routine saves for Alisson. Perhaps they had more chances in that 20 mins than we did in the first 70, but you would expect that it's a cup final and you are a goal down it's all or nothing. Ultimately it doesn't matter how many chances you have it's about taking them. Spurs were behind for 88 mins in the biggest game of their hisory and didn't create a chance for 70 of those despite supposedly being the better team. We were in front from the 2nd minute and denied them chances for the next 68, it might not have been great football to watch but from a game management point of view we were the better side - we managed our situation better than they managed theirs for most of the game.

I think Hoddle is ultimately upset because he knows that this was Spurs chance, last year with us you knew we were building something and we would be a better side in future and we had every chance of coming back to the final again (and so it proved). With Spurs I'm not sure that is the case, I think that this might have been their big chance and that they might not get another for a long time.

How are the pots worked out? I assume that Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain are there as champions of their repective leagues, Us as CL winners, Chelsea as EL winners, but Zenit seems an odd one for them to be in pot 1 where as Real Madrid who won it the last 3 years before us are in pot 2.

I was thinking that about Madrid!

Pot one: champions from each of the "top-six" leagues; England, Italy, Spain, Germany, France and Russia. And the winners from the Champions League and Europa League.

Then you're into coefficients which is why Real are the top of pot 2.
