Because he has done well in the Championship and again last season in the Premier League for Brighton.

I am not knocking Quansah in the slightest and hope what we have seen of him is just a taster of how good he may go on to become, but Colwill is that little bit more proven given he has already stood out at both Championship and PL level before this season and is the same age as Quansah.

Just a bit easier to judge Colwill at present given this is the third season that he has been getting first team games.

Hopefully come the end of this season Quansah will have shown himself to be at the same level in terms of both quality and consistency of play that Colwill has shown.

Both very different types of CB too which bodes well for England in years to come.

Quansah looks like he might grow into being a Sami Hyypia type CB in terms of how he plays, the rock at the back if you will, whereas Colwill looks a lot quicker and the type that will carry the ball up field as well as looking like he could play as the LCB in a two CB partnership, a three CB back line or as the LB or LWB in a back four or back five.

Is a pity that Colwill signed a new long term deal with Chelsea as would have liked to have seen us bring in him.

Quansah has not put a foot wrong imo for us, but Colwill is also very good for his age and has been a stand out player for the England U21s and has a lot more first team experience than Quansah.

If both keep progressing though, they would make for a really good pairing at the back.

Quansah being naturally a RCB afaik and Colwill a LCB (and LB)

Thanks, I think Elliott is or has the potential to be a good player, but I just don't see what his role in the side would be at the moment. He has had some good cameo appearances this season, but has had much less of an impact when he has started games recently

Quansah should go straight into England's first team, no? He's already better than the likes of Colwill, etc, IMO.
Not really, no. He got done a couple of times defensively and didn't particularly stand out to me otherwise, though he did end up with a couple of assists.

The only one I'd be interested in signing for us would be Madueke. Shame he went to Chelsea.

Can see Quansah replacing the Leeds lad at CB alongside Branthwaite fairly soon if he keeps getting games for us.

Scored two, hit the cross bar & how many assists was it? Good night out for the young fella & captained the side as well.

Nice highlights package. Elliot was great but Rico Lewis is something else. Xavi-esque.
