He & Jones need to have a word to Carvalho & tell him that hard work pays off if you really want it.

He’ll be confident and fired up for the United game on Sunday too. Even though, he’s probably done enough to earn a place in the starting lineup, I’d still keep him on the bench, but very much with the intention of bringing him on against tired legs, the last 30 min or so.
Yeah he’d believe he can come on & change the game & some of us are starting to believe he can too.

Don't think he will start v Man U but is a good one to have on the bench

'Scored' against Wolves too and these long range shots are something he seems to do regularly for England U-21's.

I like Elliott but have been critical of the fact that he doesn’t make match-deciding impacts. Or hardly at all.

Saturday was the sort of thing I’ve been looking for, from him and he delivered.

Equally, this wasn’t a deflected goal, it wasn’t a lucky goal, or a tap in. He made it happen entirely himself with the nice bit of movement, driving into space and then producing a very good strike to win us the game.

This needs to become more consistent but on Saturday he did something I wasn’t convinced he could do. His impact off the bench this season has been on a higher level to before, which bodes well.

Still a long way to go but we’re seeing progress and development.

If he can become a player who makes match winning impacts on a semi regular basis, he could go on to become a top player.

And he missed 6 months just when he started getting first team game time.

He's not our traditional midfielder so hard to see how he ousts someone else, but he's a big talent with a great mentality so we'll see.

Yep he has a few years yet of having good and bad form before we will have any idea of how good he might turn out to be and also what position might be his best.

Not sure if it was on here or elsewhere, but ages back saw a few people say they think may turn out to be a little like Silva (Bernado not David) type player in time.

Think he is showing little signs of being in the early stages of becoming that style of player. Since others said it it kind of stands out a bit more when I watch him play, probably because I am now looking for what I did not see before.

Might take two or three years but would be something if he did.

I still think he should be false 9 long term. He is still really young, so I dont think he should be playing 40+ games a season just yet. I do think he is worthy of a start though.

Get what you're saying but this is the first season for a very long time (ever?) that our 'subs' are as good as our 'first teamers'.

He’s getting stronger and is eradicating the dodgy passes he was doing last season.

We and he should be delighted with his current role.
