Was he always so slow before his injury? Could just be hindsight playing tricks but he seemed faster to me…

This was criminal. From the goal kick after we’d literally just had our second VAR reprieve.

I like the lad but just don't see where he fits in.
Too small, too weak and not quick enough.
But he's 19 and maybe he can make giant steps over the next 12 to 24 months.

As a consequence Trent can’t get as far up the pitch - because he has no protection - and Salah has to come wider to try and get the ball. We’ve stuffed up our right hand side for no benefit.
Neil Atkinson on the AnfieldWrap nailed it with him: I can see the risk with Elliot but I can’t see what the reward is.
I have been saying for a while, I feel like he gets in the way of Salah and TAA and slows play down. He plays higher up the field than the other midfielders but offers no additional threat for it, so I think this is spot on.
As I have said before I think he has ability he's just not suited to the role we want him to play.

Harsh on a young player. He is playing because some other players might not be fully ready.
He has quality for sure, but it would have been better if he played in a team whirring at the top of its game. When more senior players are struggling around him it’s not fair to judge him.

Klopp keeps playing him in a position he is terrible at. His best position if where Mo is and even if he was played there he is not good enough to be a starter. In our current setup he ain't making it here.

Yeah I feel Klopp has a plan & this is part of his developmentOriginally posted by Fosterbloke View PostI've said this before too - he's got the vision, passing, close control and shooting skills to play there. Perhaps it's all about minutes and learning how the midfield works in order to be a better Firmino?
