I think he's disliked for similar reasons as Torres.

The difference is that now that Torres has retired the club is slowly reintegrating him and eventually he'll be forgiven and remembered for what he gave to the club.

It's going to be harder for Sterling because he didn't stay here long enough and left in a moment when we were becoming strong and he was reaching his potential. He said he wasn't leaving for money but he could have achieved his goals with us.

Sterling will have a long and very successful career but he's going to be someone else's hero, not ours.

its very complex and very simple at the same time give us your best for a few years, have a decent PR about leaving, dont sign for a rival or run down your contract.

Suarez wanted out and gave us another year, no complaints about going to Barca, same with Alonso going year after Rafa tried to flog him.

Coutinho let us develop him away from the spotlight and ****ed off to Barca under a cloud asap.

Sterling came to us on the sly like Can and people are surprised both ****ed in bad circumstances, but we developed Sterling, he turned down 100k, his agent chatting **** in the press, Sterling done unauthorized interviews playing the victim and we ultimately didn't see his full potential or fee and he struggled at city for a couple of year justifying the fans reason to stay here.

Sterling ticks all the boxes of things not to do, he also flaps it every time at Anfield which is why people continue to boo in such a manner it clearly affects him, he had a couple of decent games I think it would have died down already. Sunday felt to be less intense against him tbh, but maybe it was less obvious and it was heightened against the other city forwards and he wasn't as singled out

Because he wan't playing for City at the time - it's an England matter?

Because he has been banned by England for one game (which seems like a punishment to me, albeit a harsh one imo)?

Because he hasn't broken any rules (except potentially the nebulous disrepute rule, which is er... nebulous at best)?

        The edit is irrelevant.
Had not thought about this before I read it here but not sure it's as crazy as you think. The 2 week ban for Harvey Elliott is a reasonable example imo. The "England matter" is questionable too. It happened in the canteen of England training ground but its obviously about the league game. So is it really an England matter?? What if Sterling met Joe in Starbucks 10 minutes before either of them reported to England duty?

Also "because Southgate dealt with it" isn't exactly a reason either. He can deal with it from a "I'm the football manager" point of view and not consider sterling for the match. But he can't deal with anything from a "bringing the game into disrepute" point of view.

At the end of the day, if Gomez wanted to then he could call the cops on the little cunt. Obviously he won't do that. But the fa should punish him properly now.

That was the best he's played against us I reckon.

sterling is a lighter version of suarez...

He told QPR he had no intentions of signing a new contract to push a move away at an early age. We all know about his shenanigans with us to force a move to £ity

Its all about him, him and him

To the point and I know I am going to get pelters here......

He had a great year last year and was the closest rival to VDV for Player of the season. In my opinion I felt at the time he threw himself into the forefront of the fight against racism improve his profile, standing and maybe, just maybe this would edge player of the season for him

Bare with me......B Silva's interchange with Mendy in the media sites. Subsequently charges by the FA. Where was sterling in all of this? The person who feels so so strongly about this. Nothing, zilch, in fact I believe he backed his team mate

Like I said earlier its all about raising his stock

Disclaimer, I realise the above might be a little incendary and it is just my thoughts. Just for clarification I am against racism and the majority of my friends are in fact from other creeds and skin tones. Including my dearest other half

If it was calculated, it seems to have worked.

Anyway, the bloke's a prick and so is his mum.

I don't think there's any need to be sensitive. Its your opinion, whether right or wrong.

I don't know the kid, but in fairness football is a lie, you've no idea what he could be like behind the scenes - good or bad.

A comment sticks out from Gerrard years ago, before Sterling left:

"Raheem and Jordan are at different ends of the scale," he added. "Jordan's so professional, he's a winner, a great lad.

                    Seems relevant to that quote

There's very little to like about Raheem Sterling.

He's an exceptional footballer even at elite level (albeit with a fairly average finish/shot/final ball that I think will prevent him from reaching the absolute top).

But its obvious to me that he's only in it for himself, the money, and the fake gangsta image. The way he treated our club and its supporters was a disgrace and I take great pleasure in reminding him precisely how many greedy *******s there are whenever he returns to Anfield.

Hopefully the intensity only goes up in the future because it obviously affects him.

And the Premier League should investigate his assault on one of our players and throw the book at him. Its been made public and its not acceptable.

I saw a picture somewhere showing the scratch on Joe’s face going all the way down his neck

I’m just waiting for a few females to come out of the woodwork and claim that he tried to throttle them

Little prick should've been kicked out of the camp and probably would've had he not been their best player.

I thought it was just a nail scratch but it looks like his watch caught him or something like that.

Maybe we need a "Kick It Out" campaign to kick out violent wannabe thugs.
